Sorry, this is OT. Jim Clark was an early hero of mine. I remember crying my eyes out the night he passed--- I was 11 years old and had subscriptions to 3 car magazines - Hot Rod, Road & Track, Car & Driver.

The Mad Max idea is not sitting real well with me since a real flamethrower would be too risky. Going for more of a hot rod or race car look is an interesting idea.

These look lovely! I keep daydreaming of starting with a neck already in this state and skipping all the tedious steps previous. Nice work here.

Because I'm a cheap S.O.B.
I'm about to have a conversion done of an Epiphone Les Paul Express 22" scale guitar to bass. I did the same one over four years ago but I gave it to a member of my seniors ukulele group this week who is learning bass on a loaner that she had to give back.
I want a Les Paul look, so decided to convert another one that I bought used from Reverb for $119 out the door. I'll have Pat Wilkins paint it teal, and I just ordered a set of metallic look fret stickers. I will replace the bridge and will have Eric's Guitar eliminate the pickup switch, move the volume knob there, wiring the two pickups together, then make a chrome look pickguard and the same truss rod cover designed like the crown fret markers.
