In the past I owned my very first bass (some bass by the name of "Lotus" that was so crappy I vowed never to speak of it again), a 1986 Peavey Dyna-Bass 5-string, a 1992 Steinberger XQ-4DB (why, oh why did I sell that!), a 1992 Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe fretless. It's worth mentioning that I took a financial blood bath when selling the basses I owned before my current two basses. Hard lesson learned there: many basses depreciate like bandits. So, I'll stick with the Modulus and MTD for a while now.

peavey 1516 $150 nice small portable cab
other small stuff $100 (there is a gig bag in there too)
so im at about $1600 give or take.
I have only just gotten back into music after about 13 years off (since high school). in that time i raced stock cars for 11. if you guys think your bass stuff is expensive , it wasnt at all on comin for me to be racing against guys with 15g in there car. good equipment for either hobby is expensive, but hopefully i wont be hitting any concrete walls with my bass any time soon!! ooh an my X was supportave of the cars, but thought all i wanted to play music for was to get woemen?? i guess that was what pulled me away from it for so long...heck i had one woman an that was too much.
