What's Your Bass/Guitar's Name?

Hello everyone. I'm a brand new member, and this is my first post. And yes, I do name my basses! I always give them women's names. A female friend once asked me why, and I said "because I am a heterosexual man", which got a big laugh for some reason.

That's like my dad and his 94 Chevy suburban with an 8 inch lift, corvette engine, carbon fiber dash panels, various switches we never figured out, and all topped with a nice baby blue paint job. It was dubbed the Blue Goose. Your guess is as good as mine.

Only one that was ever named.

Only named one bass over the years. My first bass,the 73 Jazz, was named after my High School sweetheart.

I've always just called mine by the brand since I don't have multiples of any one make. "The Washburn" (when I still had it), "The Yamaha," etc. - creative names like that.

I've found that in my head I've started giving them names but I've never used them in conversation with anyone else. My Yamaha BB415 is "Big Red" (cause it's big and it's red, duh) and the custom 5-string by John Toon I call "Looney Toon" (cause of the luthier and cause it's funny looking). There's also a Michael Kelly ABG fretless that's the Dragonfly, but that's the model name, not my own christening. That's about it, I'll have to see if they ever make it into real life conversation.
