What's Your Favorite Looking Bass?

Hard to pick just one.... I err towards the classic fender designs with the covers and tyg bar installed. If I am going based on looks alone, it'd have to be a jetglo Rickenbacker with the pickup cover installed. I don't like their sound or QC issues, but there is no denying their beauty imo.

I love my '83 Washburn Force 40EQ. Its one of those "acquired taste" basses that I was unsure of when I first bought it but the way it played sold me on it. I've grown to love its looks as time has gone on. The extra long horn, neck-through super slim neck, Tele-style headstock, P/J configuration and the tobacco sunburst finish have all combined into, what to me at least, is a thing of beauty. :)

I like all basses, to be honest, especially the kind of goofy looking ones. But for me it's a tossup between a thunderbird in just about any colour, a blue Rickenbacker 4003/4001 - though the jetglo ones and some of the white ones I've seen also look amazing, and the white P-bass with maple fretboard and black pickguard that Paul Siminon and Deedee Ramone used are all really nice in my book.

It's odd that the Jazz bass isn't on that list, because they happen to be the only basses I've ever really owned without selling.

Wow. 98% of the people in this thread have completely different taste in basses than me. I was excited to see some beautiful basses. I'd call this the ugly bass thread. Not flaming or anything. Just find it interesting how people's tastes vary. Don't have time now to post any TRULY good looking basses, but will when I can. And if anyone is offended by this post please keep in mind that a Bongo was my fav for a very long time :).

My Gibson Ripper is my favorite and favorite looking bass back in the early 70's there wasn't anything else that looked like it the first time I ever saw in was in a Circus magazine Gene Simmons was backstage seating in a chair playing it. Than I heard him play it at a early Kiss and in combo with the Ampeg SVT it just growl that is when I was hooked

Whenever I gig with it my drummer always says it is his favorite bass out of all 12 :)
