Which Cover Did You Learn Last And...

Not to hijack this thread, but we could start a discussion about songs with odd measures and how they get mangled sometimes in covers. Not the 5/4 or 7/4 songs, but the 4/4 songs with the occasional 2 or 3 beat measure. Bungalow Bill, Here Comes The Sun, I Threw It All Away, The Weight.
I was learning how to play some SRV lead playing, which was cool as I'm primarily a rhythm guitar player.

Latest cover: "My Back Pages", The Byrds version, Chris Hillman's bass line.
Favorite: "My Back Pages". Kidding, but I do like it a lot. It has to be a Beatles song, don't make me pick!

Doobie Bros. - Long Train Runnin’ is the last cover I learned, it’s a fun groove. I think my favorite cover to play is Zeppelin - Song Remains the Same. Another I’ve always liked playing is RHCP - Soul to Squeeze.
Wow, it's been a looooong time since I learned a cover. 10 years, I think. It was probably "Black Dog".
Cover I liked playing most? Either "Red Barchetta" or "Eyes of a Stranger" (Queensryche). "Black Dog" is also a lot of fun.

I'm currently learning it with my teacher. Interesting song to practice the flow of notes, playing without a drummer especially.

“Gimme Three Steps”. I’m new to the bass and it was a great challenge. Talk about fun!
Not in a band yet but the last song I learned was hunt you down( first song of the three parter, working on the rest) by Paul McCartney off Egypt Station, I can sing the entire album and having added that in made me really happy playing and singing. I learned maximumisness off of George Clinton's Hey man... Smell my finger in a couple listens, garbage truck by sex Bob omb was the first thing I learned then I learned taxman and started working on hey bulldog.. Still workin on that but yeah I'm sure plenty of you know that isn't too easy for a beginner. I gotta finish learning about 10 other songs but that'll come with time and practice.
The last one I’ve learned is “Pendulum” from Pearl Jam. I like the bass line because it gives extra emotional energy to the song.
Last new song learnt is To be Alive by Stanley Clarke. It is hard to choose one favourite so i won’t even try because there are so many tracks amongst my faves.
Jackson Five’s I Want You Back, for the soul/Motown group I play in. Wilton Felder’s bassline on this tune is like a self-contained textbook on rock/pop harmonic structure. Not to mention being hella fun to play.
