Sadowsky is not truly common either. The last Lull I played, an MV5, was incredible!

For me, having the builder within semi-easy driving distance would be a pretty compelling bonus. I'm probably actually going to borrow a 5 string Jazz style bass from my luthier friend for a while one of these days and see if I bond with it at all. I've had some pretty nice ones here for preamp installs, but I wasn't really playing fretted basses or fivers at all at that time. Still don't, but at least I do own a fretted fiver now.

I hope you like it. The closest makers around here would be Elrick in Chicago or the LowEnd Jazz guy in Nashville. That said those Alien Audio Basses in a Nashville look incredible even though most are double P-Basses instead of Jazz Basses.

As you know, my friend (and sometime customer) owns Marco Bass Guitars, which is just a tiny mom and pop operation. He's a little over a two hour drive from here. Mike Lull's shop is about four hours away, so there are a fair number of used Lulls around. In any case, buying new instruments has been a real rarity over my playing time, just two in 47 years. Best of luck with however you proceed Anthony.
