I am in an interesting spot. I am about to pickup a Spectorcore fretless that I have had my eye on for a year, but I am a huge fan of MarkBass and the same store has this combo on consignment. It would be a very nice upgrade over my GKMB200. I cannot have both.

Really do like the sound of that Bass Doc so I voted for the bass. I gigged a MarkBass 210 combo one time where I was required to do so and was disappointed in it. It was DI'd to the sound board for the FOH already and they had some standard setting they used on it. I had run it flat with a little bit of low-mid boost like I usually do on my passive Jazz and it was OK, just not as good as I'm used to. I normally play through my Eden/DNA gear, which I much prefer. It wasn't bad though and I did like it better than some GK gear I've played through or owned previously.

I just really like the sound of that Spectorcore Fretless and I think it would probably sound good played through just about anything, whereas personally, I am not interested in the MarkBass 210 at all since I use my Eden head with my DNS-210 cab. Still, I think it wold be a step up from the GK you mentioned. But that bass would be a nice addition to your other basses, and I'd bet you'll end up playing it a lot.

That bass is not an improvement over your Pedulla, at all, on this planet, although it is different. I'd opt for the amp, given the choice between those 2. BUT, having said that, in terms of sound, I'd think out of the box and go for a really sweet pedal preamp with a tube, like an Oracle or AMT-A.........jus' sayin'.......keep on pluckin' , Dr. Fromage :-)

Nice bass Mr Cheese. I will note that you barely touched the B-string. Why you looking at a 5?

2020 has seen me weather some serious financial issues that arose out of some issues that were beyond my control. The Pedulla was a casualty. It is great bass, but l learned that I would prefer my #1 be fretted. My Geddy is my #1fretted. The Spectorcore will be a very nice fretless five. My main basses will be my Geddy, Peavey Forum AX five, Spectorcore. I may donate my Glarry Fretless and keep my Yamaha with the EMG. My Carvin SB5000 is my one exotic sort of bass.
