Verily, the gear carousel doth spin randomly on a whim and a prayer........in that case I totally get the Spector.....but still methinks a top end pedal preamp might float your boat in a financially efficient manner

I’ve enjoyed all of them but I’ve never heard your bass voice so clearly. I think this one was made for you.

Well now I have to change my vote to get the bass. I wasn’t aware you were without a fretless 5.
If I recall correctly, you’ve got a few fretless basses already. I’m not one to say anyone has too many basses, but does that Spector sound significantly different from your other fretlesses? If not, I say let that bass find a happy home with someone else. The amp, if you need it for gigs or otherwise, get it. If not, go home with a happy wallet.
How about you write these two items in on your calendar, today, and begin the mandatory 21 day cooling off period. Or a month, whatever.

I voted Bass since I think a new bass is generally more fun than a new amp.
That being said, our singer/BL has that same Markbass amp in her basement rehearsal space, so I use that rather than haul my own gear. But I actually like the sound I get from it and with a hard hitting drummer, a guitarist, and a guitar/keys player, and four of us sing, it’s never struggled. I like it.

I went through a Markbass phase and for a while was really into the sound and the whole accessories thing, but I've been back with a little Ampeg tube rig for a couple of years now and much prefer it. Not saying either is better, just the more traditional sound suits me best.
