Besides that hum, I like the way my amp sounds, especially when I am playing basses with any sort of humbuckers.I would rather play my Glarry P bass into my Mesa Bass 400+ or Gallien Krueger 700RBII than play a high end bass through a crappy amp.

Not sure if that bass is readily available, but I would get the bass. You can always pick up a Mark bass amp at a later date.

Sad to hear about the Pedulla - like many here, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your adventures with it.
About the Spector - I'm not sure what price you're getting them at, but whenever I've played one, it's struck me as one of the best fretless deals out there. Very comfy and well thought-out bass. From the clip - it sounds great in your hands.
On the other hand - I may be biased, since living in an apartment with paper-thin walls, I play 90% through headphones. So what do i know about amps...
In either case - hope you remain in good health, and that the coming year is not as financially turbulent

Thank you for the kind words. I talk about GAS a lot, but like most, I am not keen on getting deep into my personal affairs. I just wanted to make it known that the Pedulla was victim of life, not a GAS attack. I do not think there is reason to have repeat of 2020 for me. I am getting the Spector for less than half it’s list price used, so I have no complaints. It has a different sound from the Pedulla, but it has quite a good sound. I will be very happy with it. I will drop down to three or four basses. I am not a session or touring bassist. I do not need a dozen basses for every possible tone a client might ask for, and I am not interested tying up too much money in more basses.

Same here. @Dr. Cheese through all your tribulations you always seem to end up with another bass. The Markbass is a great amp, especially that one. I wouldn't mind owning one if I didn't already have some nice GK's. Good luck on your choice.
If the Pedulla is gone then it makes sense to get the Spectorcore. I never much liked them because of the pickup placement, it needs to be much closer to the bridge to suit my needs. On the other hand, if you've played it and like ti then why not. Markbass amps are great (I've used them exclusively for nearly five years now) but they are readily available. Deals to be had on them all over the country!
I concur! Not only does it just sound great, it's lined which will make it a hell of lot easier to gig with. After playing my Tony Franklin for like 3 weeks, I'll get out my Jaco jazz and all of a sudden it's practically like playing a fretted bass and everything's in tune etc...
But that Spector has a really nice woody kind of tone. A lot semi-acoustics don't actually sound like that but that one does...

My gigs are mostly ampless, which makes me say get the bass. Not sure if that's the right answer for you, but it is for me.

I'd go with the Markbass, but I'm also a big fan of naps.
The piezo pickup on the Spectorcore is the secret sauce. It can deliver a great deal of brightness if you want it to.
I'm in the same boat but I cannot quantify exactly why. What comes come to mind is they seemed a little expensive for what you get (pretty big form factor on the cabs and combos) plus noting that jumped out sonically as a "gotta have it!" whereas other amps did give me that sensation.
Of course that's all individual preference. You may love the sound and if you don't care as much about the schlep factor...there you go.
I don't dispute this but I don't consider a bridge piezo pickup to be a replacement for a magnetic bridge pickup. The tones are just too different for me, though I do like the piezo sound. If that were the case, I would probably own an Ibanez AFR by now! Maybe I still will...
Anyway, all that matters is that you're keeping your hand in the fretless game after selling the Pedulla, and this is a nice bass to do it with!
I used to own a MarkBass CMP121P. I did not like how it sounded until I turned off the vintage filters. Once I got the uncool red sound, I thought it was great.
After sweating over what kind of small practice amp to get, it turns out I do all my practicing over headphones anyway and it mostly gathers dust. It gets some use so I don't regret having it. I only regret having over-thought getting it.
