Many many songs do. The Rush instrumental YYZ comes first to mind--gave me goosebumps while driving one evening on the NJ Turnpike toward Newark Airport--felt that the song totally captured the essence of all the activity around there. And that was before I knew that YYZ was the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson International Airport!

Bravado by rush. Its an odd-ish one as far as not being so popular, but after Alex's (incredible) solo, Ged's vocals "And if the music stops, there's only the sound of the rain. All the hope and glory, all the sacrifice in vain" truly soulfully haunting lyrics. Saw them play it live on Clockwork Angels in 2012, made every hair stand on end.

Imagine by John Lennon. I was playing it on piano at home when I was a teenager in the 80's at the exact time my grandmother called to tell me my favourite uncle died in a car crash.

Also, Magic Power by Triumph. One of those great songs from when I was young that I never get sick of hearing.

"Long Road" - Pearl Jam

Eddie Vedder wrote the song after finding out about the death of one of his high school teachers who was one of those teachers that had made a huge impact on him. Then when the September 11th attacks happened, he was joined by Neil Young and Mike McCready to perform it for the America: A Tribute To Heroes telethon.

Eddie Vedder, personal loss, and September 11th...it's hard to match the emotional potency of that performance.
