todcaster64. Lol. not just basses as said previously in this thread. a lot of different musical equipment. i am currently the singer and guitar player in an idustrial band. experienced lots of badly built equipment from clearly declining quality control issues. and a flooded market.

So you ARE A GUITAR player TROLLING A BASS PLAYER Forum!!. AHA!

is that the button next to "quote"? sorry i don't see it.
Okay quick lesson, because I can see you're going to be a fixture around here. So this is a hate thread turned help-desk....
1. highlight text in somebody's insult. then click "quote". You can also quote the whole message.
2. Paste it into the reply box by hitting "insert quotes"
OR
type "@" + the name of the offending bassist to alert them
@Lefty4string
There you go dude. Now you can defend yourself! Hands up chin down!

I think a person only needs to have one bass to learn how to play. Whether they get good at it is up to them, but also might rely on some pre-existing talents (like perfect pitch).
If my primary gig was playing guitar, I doubt I'd have three basses.
and for the record, some of us don't claim to be musicians
Apparently a precursor to being a musician is being able to hear when an instrument is out of tune. I can't do that, unless it's really out. I can tell when a instrument is in Drop D vs. E Standard, but if it's in Eb Standard,,,
