why isnt there a J.Jamerson sig.bass

The first signature bass would be Stu Hamm in the late 80s. I am pretty sure Eric Clapton was the first "signature" guitar but I am probably wrong. I think it would technically be Mary Kaye but I don't think that was marketed under her name, again, I am probably wrong.

A Jamerson signature is essential an AVRI 62. My L&M used to hang SitSoM with a 62 AVRI as though it was a signature.

I was talking basses. The urge bass seems like more of a "signature" bass compared to the Jaco or Jamersons due to it's pickguard and extra PU. Excluding distinctive guitars/basses like SRV's Lenny, EVH's red guitar, Bootsy's star bass, or Billy Sheehan's Wife, etc, "signature" basses are kind of weird.

And THAT is why you don't see a Jamerson sig IMHO. Must still be some bad blood.

No - I spent money there... so I feel "invested". Or felt invested - I liked them and their 2nd incarnation "LA Bass Exchange" (where I spent *a lot* of money); Not wild about "the amp shop" though - too small. I'll spend my funds at Bass San Diego, thank you.

60's P-bass, period-correct pickup, brown sunburst with tort guard, pickup covers and "thumbrest", put flats on it, stick a foam mute under the strings, and play with one finger really hard.

Geezer Butler is similar...just pick any P-bass and you're done lol.
