Apologies if this has been posted already but here's an old clip from the Arsenio Hall show where Will makes fun of bassist John B. Williams:
Maybe John B Williams took it out on his bass by slapping it.He made fun of a bass player so nobody cares. If that bass player slapped him we know what would have happened..lol. Good job making this thread bass related![]()
Well, Bob Hope has hosted the Oscars nineteen times (more than anyone else), beginning in 1940. There might have been other comedians before him but I'm not sure. Comedians make a pretty obvious choice as hosts: they are used to working in front of crowds, they are used to engaging directly with crowds, they are typically comfortable with a degree of improvisation and they tend to help with the entertainment aspect of the ceremony. And, of course, there's a long tradition of comedy in film. It's unlikely that the trend of hiring comedians as hosts for the Oscars is going to fade any time soon. Heck, this year two of the three hosts were comedians (Chris Rock wasn't a host, just a presenter).
As for the standing ovation, I wouldn't be too quick to draw any conclusions from that.
Yes, which means he can no longer vote for the Oscars. But I'm sure this is just another part of the elaborate conspiracy.Latest real news is that Smith resigned from the Academy.
Ha, the celebs of old are very lucky there was no social media or TMZ/24-hour gossip coverage then. That thin veneer of "adulthood" or "classiness" with which we regard them would be quickly stripped away.Even the pretense of "classiness" has been completely absent from the celebrity machine for at least the last 20 years. Nothing left but starlets on the red carpet with their assets hanging out and their unsavory escorts. At least when Debbie, Eddie, Liz, Mike, and Dick engaged in various adulteries they PRETENDED to behave like adults.

Meanwhile, here's the Hollywood Reporter writeup on Smith's academy resignation:
Will Smith Resigns From Academy After Chris Rock Slap At Oscars – The Hollywood Reporter
Yeah, it's not as though nobody else is wearing a wig that night ... probably half the women there have some hair that's not their own. Or more. And a pretty standard thing to do for alopecia. She looks fine as is too, I wouldn't know there was any condition there if it hadn't been publicized. Of course, Jada is free to feel however she wants about it, and to deal with it as she pleases. It's an unfortunate condition, but really, in the larger scheme of things there are a whole lot of worse things to deal with. Ask me how I knowJust a thought- is Jada really bothered by her condition? It would seem a person of her wealth could afford the finest wigs available if she was really bothered by it.
She seems to be "rocking" the look pretty well.
?
Sorry Wins, I draw the line at Chuck Norris.
