Winter Build Off 2022 - Get Ready

Oh, I have all the parts ready to go in an Amazon list. I just need 2 A) finish my current bass project that has been going for nearly a year. And B) make sure that I don't need that $200 on something more critical. C) I may need that $200 to buy a bow and a set of strings for my other new bass...

Depending on what kind of parts you really like, this might not work, but I usually have a set of Bart and EMG sized "indeterminate origin" (IO) pickups around that can be used temporarily while I sort out what kind I want in an instrument. Same with gotoh GB7 sized small post tuners. I like to use them, but have a couple of sets of IO tuners in both chrome and black for built and sort out purposes.
I think I paid like $15 for a set of pickups and around the same for a set of 5 or 6 tuners. They are crap, but usually work well enough to make things happen in the meantime.

Black hardware and pickups have arrived. This was the first Schaller bridge I've bought that was received in the original box with a spacer. Even came with black screws. All this darkness makes me want to make the bass black too, but I have some delightful figured maple tops that have been waiting patiently to be used. I guess I still have some time to decide.

I have never heard of Chococat until now. I guess he's Hello Kitty's boyfriend or something.
Making a Chococat bass is an excellent idea, though I don't know that I'd want to put something together for this build-off.
What would I do with 11 days that I haven't done with the last 111?
We had unusually high temps today, which brought about unusually high winds, which brought about loss of power.
If it's not resolved in 10 days, I may resort to building a whole bass with a hatchet and sandpaper. I have a battery bank and inverter in the van, I may be able to keep some batteries charged and do some work with cordless tools. Another option is to load the van up with all my tools, transport them to work and simply live in the van, in the parking lot at work for the duration of the build off.
It's still up in the air at the moment.
Thankfully I still have cell service, so I can post this.
