When you ask somebody "How's it going" and they start to tell you...Actually...
Am I the only one who got the ruler on open palms instead of knuckles?but I could feel my 8th grade English teacher wanting to wack my knuckles.

I got it on my bare bum.Am I the only one who got the ruler on open palms instead of knuckles?
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!I got it on my bare bum.
But it wasn't at school.
And I had to pay extra for it.
The people around me at that Walgreens weren't terribly happy about any of what was going on either…

If you talked to my kids when they were that age, they would've said that verbatim.when I do something bad my dad talks and talks and talks until you just want to cut your ears off. I'd rather be spanked".
This time I did check the length of your response before I started reading it.Ha! Sucker.
This is exactly why "how are you?" or, "how's it going?" is a completely wrong way to greet someone in passing. Just say hello, or wink and give 'em a couple six shooters. Why would you ask someone how they're doing and keep walking? And if it's a sincere question, first, we barely know each other, are you really deeply concerned with my well being? Also, you just put me on the spot. You asked how it was going and I just said "hey" and kept walking. Now I feel like a jerk. But honestly, I don't recommend we get into it because we could be standing here for a good hour+ and not even scratch the surface of what's going on and how I'm doing. And of course I'll be obliged to return the courtesy and ask how you're doing. And OMG I can't deal with people blubbering about their problems. So why can't we just avoid this whole situation? Seriously, we pass each other in the hall at work maybe twice/wk. Just wave, say hello, smack my ass like a football player, salute, fist bump, all good.
So, now when people ask how it's going, but plan to keep walking, I just say, "best day of my life". It's s'pose to be sarcasm, to point out that it's stupid to ask someone a rhetorical question as a greeting, but they always chuckle or smile. I can't win.

I'm convinced you give this lecture anywhere and everywhere, IRL or online, whenever possible, throughout your lifetime, in hopes that maybe in the end a tiny part of mankind may get it.This is exactly why "how are you?" or, "how's it going?" is a completely wrong way to greet someone in passing. How long did you say it was till the build off starts?.....
I would send all the stuff I harvested from the crappy fake P bass I pulled apart, but,no budget for things like pickups andotherhardware.
In squirrel time? Eons. Right there just short of infinity.
For the rest of us, just a few weeks. (Still not sure if I will be able to play or not. I have ideas, and sketches, but no budget for things like pickups andotherhardware. Plus the boss is hoping I'll spend some time doing fewer projects in the garage and more of the other list of projects on the honey-do list.)
