Winter NAMM 2015 Updates - Basses

i got the chance to play an ibanez sr1605e which has a poplar burl top, bubinga neck, and the nordstrand pickups. I rather enjoyed it. I usually don't go for 5 strings but the low B was tight and the tone was great. I can't overstate how good those nordstrand pickups are. If I ever decide to upgrade pickups on one of my basses I would probably go with them. That being said, I did feel that the overall construction and fretwork was not up to par with that of musicman, despite being in a similar price range. Even so, these are definitely basses to keep an eye on, especially the ones with the nordstand pups.

I can't wait to see more from Nordstrand. I hear they are going into the cab market, as well as looking forward to seeing more of the new pedal they are coming out with.
Yeah he's been posting pics on his Facebook page. Good looking stuff!

But no new fretless models? I was hoping for a Portamento in a 6'er... Oh well, I guess it can wait until after the purchase of all of the above... My wife is going to be PISSED!

It will hopefully be worth it :) But they are intriguing....

I saw those Nordy amps in action, they were pretty cool. I'd like to actually test them in depth.

As for basses, all the usual custom guys were there, with amazing stuff as always. LeFay is a new one (at NAMM anyway) and they're really top notch. Kinda seemed like an MTD meets Dinwall. I highly recommend checking them out!
