I wonder... why Fender refuses to come out with a Mexican "Classic '60" Precision Bass (alder body, rosewood fretboard). There is a classic '50 Precision (maple neck), and a classic '70 Precision (maple neck B&B). There is a classic '60 Jazz Bass (alder/rosewood), a classic '70, and for the guitars there are also classic '50, '60 & '70 models. Only the '60 P bass, a truly iconic model, is missing.

The GIO short scales look nice...Shame the Talman isn't a short scale as I would be all over it like a rash.

Any other major manufacturers bringing out a short scale I wonder?

Ibanez is blowing it out of the water .I may actually grab one of those p/J 5ers or one of the NT6's. About time they released the Adam nitro sig.

Ibanez definitely has some alluring basses coming up. Looks like they've borrowed ideas from a few boutique designers across the spectrum. In my limited experience, few companies are as consistent with quality-control. Especially considering the price point!

The 5 string Mikro is intriguing...if they bring those to Europe I would string it as a picollo E-C

That one caught my eye, too. Bartolini M56C pups in it. I wonder how much it's gonna cost though.

I expect it to be above $1500 and probably closer to $2000.

A walnut mikro with black hardware.. quite tempting. Seems Ibanez really is on their P's and Q's this year, very nice.

I realize that this is the basses thread, but judging from that clip, the new Bassman 500 is worth a look as well. 2 tube preamp, 500 watt class D power stage, vintage look and tone that you can afford (and carry easily in one hand)?

It's so nice to hear such a great tone and a modern slant on a J bass from Fender. It's also very sweet to see a 34" scale 5 string with a great sounding low B. The whole "gotta have a 35 scale" for a tight low B is just fantasy. A good stable and stiff neck is what's needed not a longer scale length.
