Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

Hey guys, I really appreciate your support... I did start a thread originally about this pedal, then was told it wasn't allowed. So it was deleted.

Then the OP started a thread and emailed me that he loved the concept and invited me to comment... so here I am. If I'm violating any rules here, please let me know. Last thing I want is to annoy you guys.

This looks pretty neat. Do you have any idea what the gifts are gonna be for different kicstarter tiers? Any idea of the time frame for general release?

Cool product!

We're planning on starting the campaign early next month. We're confirming hardware pricing right now so we can be confident in the pricing we use in the campaign.

As far as the other gifts, we're getting everything ready... stay tuned... we think you'll like them ;-)

The footswitch is used to add additional 'one off' accent hits, such as hand claps or cymbal crashes. Any standard latching footswitch with a 1/4" connector should be compatible.

Can the 'one off accents' be played without the main beat running ?

This would solve a problem for which I've been trying to find a practical, simple, solution for some while: to add accents or samples independently of the (flesh and blood) drummer.

If I could have two available in the same song even better ... is there a possibility of using two accent foot switches with your pedal to get that ?

My thinking was that the post about the contest had gone beyond getting input on a future product.
I am always glad for the builders of gear to be around.

Would love to be a Kickstarter...not sure if I can justify it yet...but looking forward to seeing the final product and the KS details!

tumbleweeds around these parts... pedal still being made?

The pedal has not been made yet. The maker is trying to raise funding (see previous posts).

But, yes, tumbleweed indeed. I'm still hoping for an answer to this:

Hi guys,

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. We've decided to get further along on the engineering to come closer to a production ready product before launching the Kickstarter so we can comfortably offer the lowest possible price to our Kickstarter supporters -- and to add MIDI sync!

Our current estimation is 6 weeks until Kickstarter. But we will have a shorter wait time from the end of Kickstarter until you receive your BeatBuddy. Sorry for the delay and thanks for your continued interest!

I'll try to answer questions on a more timely basis...

Yes! That is a feature many people have asked for. You can also program it to have the roar of a stadium crowd to play after you finish a song :-)

We're working on a system for dual footswitch. There's been some argument over what the best function would be for the second footswitch. Our current options:

1. A second 'one off' sound.
2. A song advance feature so you can move to the next song without having to bend down and fiddle with the BeatBuddy.
3. A dedicated tap tempo footswitch so you don't have to bend down and hit the tap button to enter tap tempo mode.

I'd love to get everyone's vote on this! Or any other suggestions.

I like options 2 and 3. Almost so much that I don't want to have to choose... :hiding:
