Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

If it sells in its projected price range, it will be out of reach of most "beginner" players to begin with- as a startup company I doubt something like this could be designed and made for cheap enough to appeal to a mostly novice audience like that (there are drum beats built in to most existing cheap multi-effect pedals these days specifically targeting that audience). The computer programability and part-changes-with-a-tap gives this project the potential to do a whole lot more in a compact package for a live musician in my opinion, without the need to carry a large bulky expensive interface like an MPC or other sampling sequencer + MIDI control interface to every show.

Maybe I'm a fringe audience for something like this, but if I could use this to build beats for solo looping stuff, and have it MIDI-synched with my looper to keep things tight I would have a perfect solution for a problem I've had for years performing that stuff live. I always do my beats through a seperate effect chain and amp, so having seperate outs wouldn't be necessary for my uses (I wouldn't ever be running other instruments through the drum machine).
My point exactly.

The target audience is everybody -- from beginners to serious hobbyists to professional performing musicians.

We're working on bringing the price down -- and to add midi sync. So we can keep both beginners and pros happy :-)

As a consumer, I must say that the facebook ad on your website that wont go away is super annoying.

It's covering up your product information...

Which is a shame because this looks like a great product.

Sorry about that. It looks slightly different in different browsers and screen sizes. You can minimize the signup form by pressing the button with the arrows next to 'signup for updates'.

I'm on the fence. The fact that if I have a two part song (i.e. chorus and verse), I can go back and forth and repeat a part as much as I want is a plus. And to add transitional fills is even better.

The way it is now, IMHO, would make for a great practice and informal jamming tool. Once I can sync it to my Boomerang, then it would make for a great liver performing tool.

We are working to include midi sync... stay tuned!

We're almost ready to start our crowd funding campaign. But we'd like to include in the video some clips of musicians, like yourself, talking about how much you want the BeatBuddy.

So, we're announcing a contest to win a FREE BeatBuddy!

Rules:

1. Post a Youtube video on our Facebook page (facebook.com/myBeatBuddy) of yourself talking about how much you want the BeatBuddy and what you plan to do with it.

2. Include the line 'I want my BeatBuddy' somewhere in the video -- this is one the parts we will use in our crowd funding video, so say it with enthusiasm :-)

3. In the 'About' section of the Youtube video, put your name, city, instrument(s) you play, and your band's name and website, if any -- so we can credit you if we use your clip. Also put in the 'About' section: "To learn more about the BeatBuddy, visit myBeatBuddy.com"

4. If possible, make the video 1080p resolution -- or as close to it as you can, and use good lighting so your video looks nice.

5. At the end of the video, tell your friends they should check out the BeatBuddy at myBeatBuddy.com

6. Put "BeatBuddy: Drum machine pedal" in the title.

7. Keep the video less than 2 minutes long.

8. Whoever has the most video views by Wednesday, April 30 at 12pm Eastern Standard Time, will win a FREE BeatBuddy (free shipping too!) and be one of the first people to receive it.

Our crowd funding campaign will start shortly after the contest ends.

Thanks again for your interest and support! And good luck!

I'm new-ish around here (within the last year or so), so I would ask, is he under any obligation to be? His signature links to the website, I think it's pretty clear who he is.

So when are you going to be a commercial user? Because you sure are pimping this to the max.

If the mods don't have a problem with the way that David is handling himself in this thread then leave it alone.
FWIW, there are some violations of the rules here. It cannot be assumed that the mods don't have a problem with it--they may not have read this thread. Your rant is misplaced.

David, please examine the Commercial Users Policy. I'm sure we all want you here, and welcome your participation--so let's dot all the i's etc. :)

Granted...although the violations seem to be simply disclosure related from what I can tell and he's been more than forthcoming with his purpose. Regardless, I simply don't understand how someone can read this thread and that's what they jump on. He's not surreptitiously posting about some "great new pedal" while posing to be a random, non-affiliated user...

That being said, I'm deleting my previous post to keep the fall out from overwhelming the purpose of this thread and detracting from the product.

Thanks!

No, to be factual he came here and started a promotional thread first, and it was later deleted -by him or by mods, I don't know- because it was promotional.

Again, I am not trying to badmouth, and I do welcome David's participation here!

The scope of my experience is this thread. This thread is all I've referred to.

Regardless, previous rant was deleted, everyone feel free to flame away for any and all perceived indiscretions if that's the way you enjoy spending time online...Geez.

(not referring to you Bongomania, I know you're just trying to keep me honest...I hope. :D )
