On a side note, I've been considering getting one of those Zoom units for some modulation and other effects but it runs on AA's, which I find bizarre. Can it be powered by a typical Boss-style 9v adapter and/or a power distributor, or does it have to have it's own power supply? I'm wondering if I can use my MXR Iso-Brick with it. Thanks.So I've had a Shift Line Olympic MKIII for a few months, but it's mainly been sitting in a cupboard until just last week since I was finishing my last semester in school. I finally got a chance to really test it out and use it for practice and live worship this past Sunday. In one word: amazing! Not that other DIs I've used have been slouches, but this gave me the best IEM tone I've experienced yet.
For those like me who cannot afford a super cool Noble, maybe consider the SLO3 if you can swing it.

@jacoby75, the Zoom MS pedals will work just fine on a daisy chain; however, you will hear noise. How much depends on what effects are in your physical and virtual chain (I've found that putting an amp sim with 15" cab at/near the end of your chain helps lessen the digital whine. ZNR only suppresses it while you aren't playing). That's why it is highly recommended to use an isolated power supply. I now run two Zoom pedals in my chain as I had to sell the Neunaber, and am very happy, to say the least. No hint of noise running off a Truetone CS6.

Thank you. The iso-brick does have isolated outputs, so hopefully it will work okay. It's interesting that you have both the ms60 and ms70. I'm debating between the two at the moment. I think I want the ms70 because I already have an amp sim and a DSM OCSD in my chain as well as drive pedals and an octave. I just need modulation effects. I like the 60 though because it also has the synth. Though I don't need any of its amp sims, in theory.
Then you'll be happy to know that the 70CDR comes with synths and compressors, as of the final update.

My setup for our women's conference weekend. I'm running the Noble and Olympic on separate channels and it sounds so good. The OC-2 is a fun tool to compliment Real Love synths
Well well well...this has been a fun month of buying, selling, trading, and rearranging pedals. I think I have it down to what I want (ha..I've said that before) on my board except for an upgrade to my phaser and maybe an envelope filter that I can switch out. The Trace Elliot ELF is going to get kicked off of there in favor of the Jay Ganz Straight Ahead Amp since it has more power and I don't need the EQ section that the ELF since the Mesa can run it.
The best purchase so far has been the COG Effects T-65. All of my other pedals are chained to its effects loop so I can have whatever I want in parallel. It's a beautiful sounding octave and I would recommend any of Tom's offerings for anyone looking for an upgrade.
I just received the Bananana Matryoshka today and that little thing is wild. I'll keep tinkering with it, but I think it will stay on the board for a while.
I finally kicked off the SansAmp BDDI in favor of two Darkglass offerings - the Vintage Microtubes and the Alpha Omega. Best decision I could have made in that regards. Hated the BDDI...

Everything goes into the LS2 which I'm using to split the signal to the two DI's. That way I can pick one or the other or both as needed wherever I play.
The Noble is clean and warm. The Olympic I have set to a very high gain which is a pushed amp sound (not at all like most overdrives, but the actual 'feel' of the tube.) I figured I'd end up liking one over the other but they both sound good separate and sounds so good together so for now I'm leaving it that way.

System. I'm using a Pedaltrain Classic Jr as my board, all powered by a TrueTone 1 Spot Pro CS7.
I'll be getting my Dingwall NG-3 5 String Ducati White bass later this week, which is SUPER EXCITING!!! My next purchases are a GoodWood Audio Bass Interfacer (to split and send my clean and FX signal to our sound engineers) and a cab simulator. Lots of people are using one nowadays, especially the OmniCabSim Deluxe. I hear lots of good things when it comes to that pedal. My other option is the Cab Zeus from GFI. Personally, I don't think I need one (don't even know how to dial in the tone I want), but what do you guys suggest?

Hey everyone! Do any of y'all have recommendations for an octave fuzz? A lot of players are using the bass micro synth and its octave up, down and fuzz feature. Im looking for something similar, but without the filter section. some I've looked into are the emma electronics okto noj, electro faustus super disruptor, and maybe the idiot box aqua box which isn't out yet (basically a take on the mxr bluebox with controllable octaves)
I don't have a specific octave fuzz to recommend, but what are you using now, if anything? I have a COG Effects T65 that has its own effects loop that I can blend with anything. My entire chain is wired into it and I can use it to trigger multiple effects at once, both with and without the octave. It's a very versatile pedal! However, that Emma OKTO-NØJS is very unique, but considering it's a fuzz (a very good one) in parallel with an octave I can just about pull off those same tones with the T65 and whatever overdrive/fuzz I'd like.

So it's a case of one out/one in... a few weeks ago I picked up a couple of Eden pedals in a stupidly low price sale: a CaliforniWah envelope filter/auto-wah and an i-90 chorus. Both were great sounding, especially the CaliforniWah. The i-90 was lovely and shimmery. A very clean and powerful chorus effect - maybe a smidge too powerful, it was definitely build with indie wibbly-wobbly effects in mind more than slow deep 80s pop chorus. Sounded great, a keeper... except that it was faulty and had an annoying background burble and hiss all the time it was switched on. Rather than go for a replacement, though I opted for a refund and ordered an EHX Bass Clone. Again a lovely sound and definitely more what I had in my head. Plus the crossover function is really useful to clean up the bottom end of the signal. Used it on Sunday evening and it sounded lovely. So that's the pedal board settled for now.
Well, except that I went along to a big bass players get together locally this Saturday and won an old EHX Micro Q-Tron in the charity raffle... more flavours of squelch to explore...

Here is the board I used for last night's worship set. Apex and OCSD are always on. Blueberry and Synth Voice are as needed for tone or depth. The Terraformer was a little too gritty for the songs we were doing. Great service though! God is on the move!
I really like the Synth Voice, too. I've found it can be set really subtle, like a light OD "thickener"...but also, turn it up for a more synth-type vibe. I've not heard another pedal quite like it...it's pretty unique.
That was the majority of it's use last night. I have the sub set to fatten it, but also have the synth set a little higher to add a little of it's own sound to the drive.
