I considered the Berg Super Pre before buying the ReVolt. My concern was that, like the HX Stomp, it's heavily menu driven, so not as easy to adjust quickly. At least that's how it seemed to me based on the video clips I watched. I don't get much time for setup before we actually start to play &/or rehearse.
Pretty much everyone else in the band just plugs straight into the house with not even so much as a tuner / mute pedal.

First run with the ReVolt went more or less OK I suppose. I'm fairly new with pedals in general, I generally just use a tuning mute

I'm not on again for a month - I declined to play Easter - so my window to return it will have elapsed before I'm scheduled to play again.

As a previous B|Amp owner, the Bergantino menu systems are familiar. I like how there are easy access knobs to adjust Bass/Mid/Treble on the fly.
I have 3 memory settings now, and unless I start playing in a group with a lot of different needs, I should be set.

MEM 1 is my basic sound using a slight modification of the Bergantino BFT (Big Fat Tube) profile. I also use this on my Bergantino Forte HP.

MEM 2 adds an effects loop to MEM 1

MEM 3 adds some minimal dirt to MEM 1

My pedalboard is currently being modified to allow for an external Effects Loop. I'll show that when that happens.

I set my PR usually between 9-10 o'clock (mostly 9) but prefer the gain knob around 12 o'clock, too. To my ear, the (higher-set) gain knob improves the dynamics of my bass signal. Yes—Attack and Knee both fully clockwise (slow attack, and soft knee)

I'll be curious your thoughts on the Origin SV. I had one but returned it since I felt I got better tones with the TH and couldn't justify the cost. It is a nice unit though, built solid by a very reputable company.

I have tone hammer ear fatigue so the main motivation was to work with something that sounds a little different. Nice to get something that can do that same job but a little differently.

So I finally got the chance to add the Rolls to the board at Thursday night's worship service (thanks @fauxtoe for your guidance!). Hey, I can hear myself better now through the IEM's! Really happy with what the Rolls does!

Oh, no rhyme or reason to it.

Thumpminator > Tuner > Nux IR > Finally DI (tube) > Keely > Parametric Equalizer > Vintage Deluxe > Rolls

I was 'xperimenting with pedals combos one day at home and this ordering "seemed" to sound the best. So I tried it out at church (pre-Rolls) and was not entirely thrilled with what I was hearing (largely because I could barely hear what I was playing -- hence the need for the Rolls).

Now that I have the Rolls, I'm on the fence as far as using an IR in the chain. I may or may not include it in the next church board that I'm already pondering (perhaps use a Broughton RFE instead). And if I decide to include the IR, I may like it right before the DI (near the end) or wherever it "seems" to fit in best.

My goal is that the sound guy(s) don't roll their eyes when I bring in a new board each time! Seriously, they are all good sports -- they tell me I sound good no matter what I bring. Ah well, they're just good liars.

I believe the traditional approach would be Comp > Finally DI or Vintage Deluxe > IR. The EQ you could put wherever depending on what you're after and the IR at the end of the day it's a bit of a glorified EQ so even though it's considered a speaker replacement maybe you like something it's doing like cutting highs or sub bass so your compressor works better. Who knows.

I think it's great you just listen to it and go from there rather than assume a specific order is best.

I have a staff bassist position as well as MD, and it's part my job to listen back on each service to talk to the sound crew about levels, tone, etc. I have had the luxury of working hand in hand with the guys to dial in a tone that works well for me, and sounds great in the mix. And I am never under mixed, which I know is not the norm. My Boss GTK has allegedly me to dial in just what I'm after and work in FOH. It has been a journey, and some weeks sounded like , but I got there! And yet, I still have GAS!

I totally agree, but I don't think that's the point of these type of forums. It's more of a "want" thing than need. I really just need an eq, comp, od/dist, preamp and that's is maybe an env filter, that's it. Everything else is just GAS. We all love gear, so let's enjoy it together ;-)

It's been a great pedal so far. It gives me a chance to set my volume anywhere on the pedal movement and gives me a slight boost or cut when needed in the song. It's a decent tuner which is nice to check between songs. Also has the ability to fade effects in and out with the pedal from what I understand (I don't use it that way). I bought used but it's been an asset.
