I’ve been trying to decide on a cab sim/ preamp/ headphone amp type situation. Bought the A+ CabzoneX and will just pair it with various Eq/ preamp pedals until I like it. Starting with the Barber Linden E.Q.
And yeah- CIOKS DC7 for me.

It’s beautiful and I am glad I didn’t know about the more compact Ark before now.
I did a few changes on my board lately too. I know my pedalboard is big compared to the minimalists here, but I love it. I would love a smaller board, but I like what I have on this board, and it does the job in all the churches I play at. Technically, it is a small board since only 3 pedals affects tone. The rest are just tools, filter, and power. I bought the HX Stomp to stop the urge to buy new effects pedals... and its done its job. I'm content with with I have... unless something breaks and forces me to change. There are a lot pedalboard brands I like posted here, but after soldering all my patch cables (sp400 ftw)... I really like how my pedaltrain hides most of the patch cables.

I think my ears are really missing the stomp and khan vtdi combo. Something about those 2 just work so well together. money being no object since I already own both… I’m looking forward to grabbing the khan Thursday and reevaluating.
the noble sounds good with the stomp, don’t get me wrong… but to my ears it seems unbalanced kinda now matter how I set it or the stomp. The khan just made whatever I did on the stomp better. For me, I think the noble may be better either as a stand alone unit for recording or with different pedals?
still gotta spend some more time with both… but at the moment, I’m missin me some KHAN!

I haven’t actually plugged it in yet! Am actually thinking of going back to a Helix LT, especially as there is now a Nobel model on there!
Am sure that I want to sell the Mesa, the Tone Hammer… still undecided, it is a lovely preamp and I think I could end up really missing it.
The Noble model is not very impressive. Just some shelf EQ to my ears.
that’s what the real thing does… but also has real tubes.
Noble model + the HX leagcy tube comp is a nice combo that gets a little closer to the real thing. And one I really like is Noble model + Sushi Box MORE.
Have had a play around with the Capo… I prefer the Tone Hammer both clean and AGS. In AGS mode the break up on the Tone Hammer is lush, and in clean it is deep and articulate with a really sweet top end that is never harsh
That is a shame, at least the Ampeg models are decent, I own some Bergantino IR’s and the Lancaster audio 810 as well so they would certainly do the trick!
There are folks who truly believe that the HX Noble model is a good substitute for the real thing. But I find it very generic and lacking organic richness. I use the HX Shelf EQ module instead as it's more adjustable.
I think any model that depends on tubes in the real thing is going to struggle a little bit. You can almost sound like tubes but I think the feel is what modelers are lacking. Can't "eq" the feel of tube stuff we all like.
How much time have you spent with the CAPO?
I know for me (and others I've spoken to) its taken some time to really dial it in. The input signal it receives plays a big factor in how it saturates. Minor tweaks can make a huge difference... I've found that to be particularly true with the B Channel. I didn't like the saturation/drive I was getting at first, but now that I have it dialed in I absolutely love it!
I may not have given the Capo it's fair shake. Too many other pedals to try. It gets the same 10 minutes as every other pedal, then it's either on the board or in the classifieds. Haha. J/k.
I had planned on spending more time with it, but I was looking to get a Moog - and selling the Capo got me so much closer.
As a Tone Hammer fan myself, have you had the chance to pair the Tone Hammer with an Origin DCX Bass? I think you will really like that combo if you get a chance. The DCX gives you superior treble/bass controls and the organic feel, the TH delivers the mids and drive.
As MikoFX says, it grows on you. The CAPO offers a lot of flexibility and I initially had some difficulty with endlessly dialing controls but it is growing on me. I'm leaning toward swapping mine out for the Tim version with a batch coming this June I believe. The Tim version allows you to stomp in/out that pre-loop which would be quite handy.

I spent around 40 minutes with it I reckon. Normally I can tell if I like something within that kind of time frame. I definitely liked the vintage mode best and with the LPF engaged.
The breakup was bugging me a bit on both channels, not bad at all but I just prefer the Tone hammer for that edge of breakup tone. I did like the Capo run clean, that was really nice!
