Worst neck dive

In the late 90's I bought a Fender Deluxe Jazz with the John Suhr preamp and 4 magnet pickups. I played it for about 20 minutes and put it in the case and put it under the bed. A year or so later I traded it and some cash for a Pedulla Thunderbass, best deal I ever made.

What bass have you played that had the worst neck dive? For me, it was my Epiphone EB-3. I couldn't let go of the neck for a millisecond before the headstock did a kamakazi attack on the floor.

Me too. I wanted one until I got it. Two weeks later it was sold and on its way to another victim.

I will not own an SG-body bass unless it's short scale. The body can't counterbalance a 34" neck.

I have a 1964 EB-0 which is very light and still balances because it's a short scale.

Fender custom shop ‘55 Relic. Nice-looking bass, but awful neck dive. Had to get rid of it as a result.

Kramer DMZ5000 fretless.

Too bad, because it was certainly my best sounding and looking electric bass ever. It was made during the era when it was sexy to make basses with a long neck and tiny little body. And the metal neck didn't help.

I eventually sold it, but still miss it.

Today, I won't buy a bass unless the strap button is at least level with the 12th fret.

Zon Legacy 5. It was my dad’s, and when I first started playing he let me use it when I wanted to play a fretted bass. He never used it because of the neck dive. I never did play it much, and after a few years I stopped using it all together, so he sold it.

Good riddance.
