Worst pedal you ever bought!

If I'm honest , last saturday I plugged my active P-bass (MIJ) straight to my HA3500 bass all flat (no Eq , no highs or lows.. just a little bit of the amp compressor -I'm a pick player-)... and I realized that that bass sounds awesome without any pedal or fx. Sometimes less is more.
1) DOD death metal - no way to tell where the distortion ends and the noise begins. I got $8 more from GC than I was going to get by throwing it in the trash where it belonged.
2) Dunlop Crybaby Bass Wah - sounds range from "blanket over the speaker" to "blanket over the speaker locked in a closet".

A Pigtronix Creamsicle (polysaturator with a different paint job). I bought this to replace my Bad Monkey as my always on OD. It was very disapointing, it sounded very much like pedal and not an authentic OD. My $30 Bad Monkey stayed on my board.
I got one of those for free once, and I'm still fairly certain I got ripped off.

I got up on all the TB hype a couple of years ago. This pedal scoops out your mids if you engage the Blend knob anywhere above 20%, but at a blend setting this low it's almost just acting as a DI without any of the fake 'tubey goodness'.
Almost everything in this statement is false.
Sure it scoops the mids if you set it that way ... but I have no trouble getting mids out the butt.
The EQ still functions even with the blend at minimum.
Ever tried reading the manual?
I felt this way at first as well. I like the overdrive from other sources, but I have gotten great DI tone using the BDDI. The blend is EVERYTHING.

With effects pedals, I've tried to re-buy cheapo pedals from the past only to find out that the replacements barely functioned and that I was lucky to get use out of the originals. I've had especially bad luck with choruses: Arion, Ibanez ToneLok, and the DOD Ice Box which lasted for about 3 months.
But my worst experience is sad and awkward. I have a friend that's a bit of a shut-in that started making effects pedals. He asked me if I wanted anything, so I mentioned I was in the market for a mixer pedal, so that I could balance the wildly varying outputs of my instruments, something like [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
So this guy put all this work into a GIANT (way-too-big) pedal with 4 inputs that could mix out to either 1 or 2 amps. The inputs are all turned on and off with stomps, each channel can be routed to amp A, B or A&B, and each has it's on volume level. So it's big and built physically like a tank, so it should be perfect, but LEDs are dying left and right and it doesn't seem to be handling power well. Last week I pulled it out to compare the volume of my EUB with a bass guitar and there was just a huge amount of hiss coming through the amp.
So I paid $100 or more for a POS that I can't return because I don't want to hurt a guy's sanity. It's just a sad reminder that good deeds seldom go unpunished...

Yeah I get my dirt elsewhere as well but the BDDI is great as a "always on", last in line before the House pedal.
I've been lucky (?) - I try out pedals before I buy them or at the very least have a buddy who has them to give me the real skinny. I haven't really disliked a pedal I've bought in... 25 years.
I was able to dial in a very usable, vintage type of fuzz with the el grande, so long as I left the bass boost at unity with my dry tone, and left the gain at zero. Pretty sure the gain only goes from zero to, like two any way then just turns ridiculous .I would however say that the mxr bass blowtorch was right up there with one of the worst ever.
Boss ODB 3. Fizzy, undefined and sloppy with my rig. Replaced with B3K, VMT, VT Bass and You're Doom. Much happier now.
Some people seem to like the OBD 3, especially with the right preamp but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Playing both guitar and bass, I probably switch between about 50 pedals, changing one board around nearly weekly based on my mood.
I've never had a pedal I couldn't find a sound or combo I couldn't use for something. Solo'd and in a live mix or recording are always so different, but I've had fun with some of this "worst" list.
The only one I couldn't really see myself using was the Arpanoid I'm selling right now. Does exactly what it claims, but I just don't see using it in any band or recording situation.

Worst experience: Fuzzrocious BDPG, sounds great but unusable as a sometimes on without grabbing higher gain, what with the level drop on the lower gain settings.
