I've seen worse.

You can't take a cheap instrument, artificially age it, and expect me to drool over it.

Artificial distressing I don't have any problem with - it's not my thing personally, but I accept that others like it and I can appreciate a well done relic job. However, there's a degree of skill and an understanding of the desired aesthetic that's required to pull it off well, and neither appeared to be present for the brutally victimized Strat in question.

Great point. I can see if someone took care and pride in what they did.
EDIT : Edited out that weird reply that stacked over this one

What were they thinking?! To me it looks like someone gave a blind epileptic sand paper covered oven mitts and let them have at it. SMDH that's passable for a $1,000 relic job on a guitar that may or may not even be a Fender Strat?! Makes me want buy a Squier P bass, tie it up behind my car, drag it for 6 miles, slap a Fender decal on it and then try and sell it for $2,000 as a relic bass! Caveat Emptor

Yikes! This says a lot:

"Very nice Fender guitar! I personally did the relic and is not a Fender Custom Shop! Everyone that has played this guitar loved it! I don't know if it is a real Stratocaster. "

So it's a Fender, not a Custom Shop (in spite of the CS decal), and he's not sure it's a Strat?!?!?!? ***, over!

That's just atrocious. It's been said to death, but it looks like a cow.

It really is too bad how much poor relic work is out there. I actually kind of dig the relic thing in general. I wouldn't pay extra for it, but I've done similar work on furniture and I've thought about doing a bass for myself.
