Yamaha Attitude Club

Making this bass active will not make it sound better, in my opinion. As for the tone and construction quality, it is one of the best precision-like basses money can buy. It is suitable for many different styles but I must confess that I mainly use my Limited 3 for rock. I use an Ibanez Grooveline for most other music styles.

thanks for the reply. I realized that the construction quality is really good. I've seen instruments in the same price range that don't even come close that are so called boutique. Too bad not many people play this instrument.

Totally agree!
No reason why this bass should be active.
Billy has always gotten with his tone with passives.

I wouldn't say its the most versatile bass in the world but, you can still get different sounds out of it.
More so if you are running it stereo.

I had a feeling running it in stereo is the answer to versatility. If I get this, I will have to try this. Thanks for the reply.

I never got the tone I wanted til I started running my basses stereo.
I don't even run my bass in true stereo I just give the bridge and neck pick ups there own EQ/Effects and blend the two and still its way better than trying to get everything out of one channel.

Thank you for the input. I'll check that feature out when I go demo the Attitude. Seems like a good bass!

Just picked up this Attitude custom. First impressions very good.

I'm not familiar with the Custom. Does it have the Limited-style neck joint? Seems to have dual outputs, but only one pickup...and no scalloping! Very cool. Nice color, too.
It has 3 pickups, Dimarzio HB neck p.up hidden under under scratch plate, and a piezo under the bridge.
I think it does have the Limited style neck joint, at least I was told that when I bought it.

I found that beauty used from a friend.I always wanted one Attitude for me,i am a big fun of Yamaha music equipment but i never had the chance to find a good one Attitude ( and cheap :D ).This time i grab it with no hesitate.

The Bass is an really bad shape and the owner have change many things, but i will try to restor it.I am between two projects,to make it like stock, with P/J configuration or make it like( as close us possible) Billy signature.Let's see what happens.

Make a good looking pair/couple with my Pacifica 604 guitar( also very rare model and color),with the same body/neck shape and the vivid colors.

The bass is a 1991 Attitude Standard in Grimson Pink color witch i like very much.I can't find any other picture of it in net.Maybe very rare peace.

Can i have a member number please? :D

Hey folks
Long time follower of this forum, first time poster. I finally got my hands on an Attitude earlier this year!!!! Serial number QNP001F. I bought the bass just before the London Bass Guitar Show which I was traveling to from Ireland wher Billy was doing a masterclass and meet and greet. I'm delighted to say not only was I lucky enough to have my pick guard signed by Billy (it was to awkward and expensive to travel with the entire bass!!!) I was lucky enough to be introduced to Billy afterward in the local bar where all the artists went for drinks until the wee hours!!

They always say never meet your heroes because you'll be disappointed, I can very safely say that for me this couldn't be farther from the truth. I was in the company of Billy Sheehan, the head of Rotosound UK and Joel McIvor (Editor) and some of his colleagues at Bass Guitar Magazine, Morten Ehlers Product manager of TC Electronic, and all of them couldn't have made us feel more welcome to sit in with them. Billy Sheehan is an absolute gentleman and strives to help all fellow musician as much as he possibly can.

Anywho, I digress. I have a couple of questions for you guys on here. Even with wide straps that are suede and top quality, the neck dive on the Attitude is irritating, I suffer slightly with a back problem. Have any of you fellas come up with a solution? I was wondering if anyone has tried to move the strap button to the body like wher it would be on a Gibson SG?

My other question is, I need to preserve the autograph on the pick guard wher Billy signed it with a Sharpie, I don't want it to rub off eventually. Has anyone got any suggestions????

I'd be delight for any help with this.

Oh, could I get a club number if it's possible too please???

Thanks!!!!!

Hi WW, love the Attitude, same colour and model as mine.

As far as the neck dive goes, I have a 4 inch Leathercraft 'big softie' strap for mine and dont really have any neck dive issues at all. If you type Leathercraft into Amazon UK, or Ebay, it should come up.

I cant help with your preserving the signature query though. The best idea may be to get another pick guard and save the one with Billy's sig on it.
