After 13 years of playing, and countless basses, my two Yamahas (BB405 and an RBX270J) remain my go-to instruments. They're the only basses (apart from an RBX765A that I had to reluctantly sell) that I've ever been 100 per cent satisfied with :D

The RBX is my main player and a perfect match.

Here's a video of it in action (bit of mellow solo bass with too much reverb):

I've got a Yamaha BB300 (late 70's early 80's I think) that I've had since 1990. A friend of my dad's was the original owner. I swapped out the stock P-style pup with an EMG p-style. I later added an EMG J-style in the bridge position and a blend pot.

The guy that did the mods for me did amazing work. EMG's on the BB300 sound amazing! Especially when paired with LaBella strings (imho).

I did this to my Yamaha RBX375.

I've blogged the build elsewhere. I don't know if I'm disqualified from joining because of this. Hopefully not. It's still Yamaha deep down.

I loved the playable neck on the RBX375, but really wanted to do something different to it. It plays like a dream now.

Has an EMG MM5TW and EMG BQC preamp now, with an ash and mahogany (more curvy) body, with a matching ash headstock plate (same as the original RBX, but not plastic)

Can I have a number please :confused:

can you help me with this one, im thinking of buying a Yamaha b415(is made in japan?), i know its discontinued but what is the difference with [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

the yamaha b415 is good for playing live and recording?, if you want to match it with a fender "level" bass what kind of level is it (clasic vibe squier, vintage modified, mexico), i need to see this because the yamaha b415 used has the same price than a clasic vibe new of fender, but i dont know how much better is the yamaha

Made in indonesia.
Quality is much higher
• All cavities are well shielded.
•The neck joint woodwork is tighter than that of fender.

The neck is weaker than 425.
The sound is quite unique,if you listen the sound ,you may feel that middle(300-500hz) is too strong.But in ensemble ,it works well.
Just my opinion.,worth to buy.
