Yamaha Peter Hook Signature Bass

My Yamaha BBPH seems to have developed a fault... the battery light stays on when plugged in and drains the battery... the first time it happened I presumed it was the dodgy battery that came with it... I've put a new battery in and the light stays on as you can see...anyone else had this ????

Have you tried cleaning the output jack? Could be there's some build up on it causing it to short and drain the battery even while not plugged in. That seems unlikely though.

More I use this Bass more I can say that is unbelievable tone monstre and his versatility is Excellent. A great buy for me. Probably my best bass.

I can't believe the amount of gear his is selling this time. It looks like the family jewels are being sold off.

True, but that mountain of stuff includes the BB1200S that he recorded most of the NO stuff on and the Viking that he used live for years and years with NO.

Interesting that his main Shergold 6 that he sold in a previous auction got interest from Adam Clayton (reading between the lines). He had sent his guitar tech over to the UK to check it out - it was rejected it when he discovered it had a headstock repair.

The auction is defo worth a look for Hooky's comments alone.

A bit morbid, but I think he's just at the point in his life where holding onto stuff is detrimental more than anything. If he dies tomorrow in his sleep the task of finding out what to do with all that stuff now becomes his family's responsibility. Better to offload it all now while you're still young enough to enjoy the rest of your life versus figuring it out on your death bed.

Speaking of which the guitar he wanted burying with is an Overwater bass. Surprising given his history with the BB1200s

the black eccleshalls are named hot, hot1 and hot too. only the red eccleshall he used in recent years, most often in the light, is named viking 1.

Yes I looked at the input jack ... it's been with Yamaha for a couple of weeks... I hope to hear something soon....
