Yamaha Peter Hook Signature Bass

Just messaged the store - thank you for the tip!

When you live in New Zealand, this whole gear adventure is an expensive expedition.

It's a great bass. The pre-amp is useful and the tone is great. It quickly became my main bass.

If you can, go for it, you won't regret it.

I found mine in a local store in my town. I did it got there, I don't know.
Played it for 10 minutes and brought it home.

Love it.

What other basses has it outplayed in its run to the championship title?

If your considering import from Italy, there appears to be on for sale in Aalst Belgium:
Yamaha BBPH Fired Red Peter Hook Signature BB

It's tempting, but I'm considering a swap from my fretless BBN5II to a BB735A, BB435 or a BB235 because I got another fretless 5. A fretted 5 would fit in better.

I like to play it in active mode. I boost the bass and middle to 1 o'clock and cut the treble to 10 o'clock.
It plays the tunes sounding like a P bass, but with the pre-amp, you can change the tone a little to make it your own.

I don't even listen to Peter Hook. I know a couple of tunes by Joy Division, but that's it.
It's a great bass, it's not just to play Joy Division, or The Light. I have TI Flats on it.

My search continues. Van de Moer Instruments in Germany and Play Music Store in Rome wont ship otside of Europe. I imagine its to do with Yamaha's distribution model or something like that.

It is a shame when you make so few of an instrument that its not possible to distribute across your entire organisation.

However, if I had paid attention to this thread in Jan, I probably wouldnt have an issue! That's my problem! I need to spend MORE time on Talkbass.

It shall be so.
