It is all out of fun. We have fun being a novelty. And the vocals do cut through pretty good (sometimes, LoL)

My guitarist just finished building his 3rd 100watt Marshall stack for our live sound. I'm a little concerned he will be drowning me out.... I use a Hartke Kilo with twin AK410 cabs. I figure, I have one of three choices.
1) Get 2 more cabs, probably 15"s. I wouldn't be able to bridge them, due to impedance. But, I believe I could run the 410s on one side and the 115s on the other in stereo mode. That would be 2 x 350watts @ 4 ohms.
2) Get a 2nd rig...... yikes $$$!
3) Always rely on P.A. support to balance things out.

OK its obvious you need to put this guy in his place. Like so many others have said there is really no reason for that kind of rig anymore with modern PA being what it is. The guitar rig is an arena size rig and not much use for anything else. I could see one head and a 4x12 but after that it's just insanity.

That being said here is what I suggest. You need 4 Ampeg 8X10 cabs, one QSC RMX 2450 power amp and a good preamp in a rack. This should put him in his place. :D:bassist::bassist::D

Sure, it's completely unnecessary, but it's fun and it looks cool. I do hope those are master volume amps, though. A single stack like that can get nauseatingly loud.

If I were you, I'd probably try to find six vintage 2x15 cabs, and a power amp to slave somehow. If you eq right, that should be plenty.

Yes, the left and middle have master volumes. The one on the right is a Mojotone, a master volume is going to be installed as soon as he finds the correct part.

For your sake, I hope they are good ones.

I remember back in college, I saw Brian Setzler - he had what looked like a wall of Marshalls behind him. Before he started, he went over, and kicked it, showing it was just a cloth backdrop - then played the concert with a Fender combo (and a microphone).

Long as you are happy, and tinnitus free.

Dude that's awesome. Not exactly sure what he's doing with that rheostat but you really gotta be careful with those. That's a old school heavy duty one perfectly capable of handling whatever he puts it to. I have a very similar one. Do you know what he's doing with it? Kudos to him if his skills match his gear.

He does double duty with this. He is in a Sabbath tribute (Dio era) with me and is also in a Hendrix cover band. Here is another pic of the gear....

Yeah it's that little red thing with the big knob next to the SG. That's like early EVH $hit there. I assume he's not dimming the stage lighting with it. :smug:
