Unless I cook the mexican food, in which case I eat it for 4-5 days straight, pretty rarely. I don't eat out much so maybe once a month or so.

My question to all the true Californians... How many times a week do you eat mexican food? Or mexican-ish.... i tend to turn leftovers (beef, chicken, pork, etc.) into tacos or burritos anyway. Or enchiladas...

Having a kick-bootay latino market 2 blocks away is cool too!

Easily 4-5 times per week, on average.

Easily 3 to 4 times a week. Sometimes I'll pick up a burrito from a taqueria, I usually make tacos about once a week and I pick up some Del Taco for lunch once a week (you did say -ish). Thats pretty much the minimum, I could easily add another mexican meal or two a week.

I counted at least 5 taquerias and an Albertos within about a 3/4 mile radius from my new house in Pomona.

As you can see there is no gas shortage in Caliornia

Yeah, i'm up there with 3-4 times a week too. I typically cook my own unless it's the "ish" (del taco, the bell, etc). Most of the time i'll make a protein and after the first meal, it will end up in a tortilla one way or another. I have some leftover tri-tip from this weekend.... guess i gotta make some guacamole!

Yeah, it may be a socal thing.. There's a freaking "(fill in the blank) berto's" everyehere!

You have to take a trip south of the 10 and hit Omana's. I've never been to the Pomona location but if it's anything like the So. El Monte location, it's good with a capital "ood"!

About the worst I ever felt was a 3.5 a few miles from Santa Rosa where I was living. Felt like a bus hit the side of the house. I thought, "Oh, an earthquake. How novel." And then I went back to sleep.

Oh! I take it back...there was one back in 2010 or so. It happened while I was playing basketball...it looked like a giant had taken the whole court, picked it up, and slammed it back down. The rims rattled for about a minute. We resumed playing.

The biggest one I've ever been in was the Loma Prieta in '89. I was out jogging and all of a sudden people started running outside of their houses. I couldn't really tell there had been an earthquake because I was running. Meanwhile, our shuttle kiln got knocked off it's tracks at work.

That must've been the Brea/Chino Hills one...I was working in Orange and it was one big slam. No rollers, which I always enjoy.

It's amazing how easy it is to miss a big earthquake. I have a friend who was in Japan for the big one. She slept right through it.

My favorite earthquake was Hector Mine (M=7.4) right after the turn of the century. I was camped in Barstow about 40 miles from the epicenter and that was one bad mother! The rollers lasted for a good minute. The earth can be a harsh mistress, but she's still awesome!

Good we're finally getting to Earthquakes. I live near quite a few fault lines and I'll take the occasional shaker over the myriad of other natural disasters that seems to plague the rest of the country: Killer heat waves, killer cold fronts, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes etc etc.

I have been through quite a few quakes but the only one that made me pause was the Loma Prieta Quake in 1989. I was talking to a friend when it felt like the ground fell away from beneath me. Everything shook, books flew off of shelves and we heard screams from the other part of our office. We both paused for a moment and he said "Whoa, that was a big one." There was no power so I went out to my truck to listen to the news on my radio. I heard about the Bay Bridge collapsing. I was a little nervous driving over some of the larger overpasses on my way home.
