You might be a Californian if...........?

This thread is a good one. Lived in California most of my life.
Not L.A. or S.F.
We do have an Avocado tree in our front yard. The Orange tree in the front is the one that gets hit hard by the neighbors more so than the Avocado.

Not really tree huggers but....

My wife makes a killer "Avocado & Wood" Sandwich.
No need for a toothpick when you are done.

My question to all the true Californians... How many times a week do you eat mexican food? Or mexican-ish.... i tend to turn leftovers (beef, chicken, pork, etc.) into tacos or burritos anyway. Or enchiladas... :hyper:

Having a kick-bootay latino market 2 blocks away is cool too!

The amazing latino markets make it way too easy. Before I commited to low carb, probably 3 times a week. I've made burritos/tacos out of so many inappropriate ingredients...
Chopped chicken nugget burritos with grilled onions, cheese, and Frank's Red Hot Sauce.
One time I topped carne asada tacos with tzatziki (greek cucumber/garlic/yogurt stuff). Way too good.
Tacos with leftover salmon. Nuff said.

I think this may be more of a SoCal thing rather than true across both ends of the state.

I am guilty of having a more than representative portion of my diet be derived from Mexican food, but the majority of that is purchased at restaurants as opposed to prepared in our kitchen.

I used to eat it twice a week if not three times, and I live in NORCAL for 34 years. Many people have Mexican food as a staple all over the state.

I used to eat it several times a week up there too, but I didn't see the saturation and density of Mexican food restaurants up there that we do down here. Here you can barely walk outside your domicile without walking into a taco shop.

Easily 3 to 4 times a week. Sometimes I'll pick up a burrito from a taqueria, I usually make tacos about once a week and I pick up some Del Taco for lunch once a week (you did say -ish). Thats pretty much the minimum, I could easily add another mexican meal or two a week.

I counted at least 5 taquerias and an Albertos within about a 3/4 mile radius from my new house in Pomona.
