Your favourite bass pre-amp???

not exactly but very close. there is a Solid State driver in the out circuit of that pre..

The F2B is closer and has no Solid State IC in its circuit.. Both sound real good

Alembic F-1X tube preamp. Tone for days. The circuit matches the 60's era AB763 blackface Fender Showman.

From the list I'd have to say the EBS Microbass II (awesome features) or the Darkglass B7K (overdrive options rock). Tried the Aguilar Tone Hammer and hated the AGS feature. However, the reason I don't own the EBS or the Darkglass is because I already own and love my Ampeg SVP-Pro...so I bought a Darkbass B3K to give me that sound as my "raunchy tone". :)

well, I've owned (and still own) quite a few preamps.

but these are my favorites:

I do a lot of work as a live sound engineer - so I always look for multiple use applications:
The UltraSound DI plus
Invalid Link Removed has been awesome!
Upright / acoustic electric bass / even taking jazz box 6-stringers direct...

I'm not the most objective, the Darkglass B7K is the only true "preamp" I've ever owned if you don't count the capabilities of multi-effects units. But it is awesome and I love it.

Ones I wouldn't mind trying out someday based on clips include the Tone Hammer and Meatsmoke.
