ok, now i am on a big dilema.

Impossible for me to chose. I really like this band, but don't even have half of their official albums (still a very tough choice). I made a small haul of Rush today at a second-hand music store and bought Counterparts (Had heard a few songs previously and liked what I heard. Why doesn't anyone talk about this album?) and the R30 DVD. My list would most likely include YYZ and Xanadu, that much I know.

I think the purpose of the OP was that everyone would choose 10 songs, if we continue categorizing we can come up with 10 songs to Play, 10 to Listen, 10 to Listen when Driving, 10 songs to Transcribe, 10 songs to Recommend to the Rush Novice, etc. Well you get my point...this is just a suggestion, OK?. NO HATE ´ROUND HERE.

By the way...RED BARCHETTA is present in a lot of the lists submitted....COOL!

That's cool you guys like it too, I think it's their best just as far as songwriting, not to mention the vocals and guitar work.

as a bass player, one of my favorite songs to play is The Body Electric. Its fairly simple in the verses and chorus but during the guitar solo is when it takes off. Check that out, learn how to play it, its neat.

+1. That is one of my favorite Rush songs, highly underrated, and the growly, rubbery tone Geddy gets under the guitar solo is it.

2112 - Overture & Temples of Syrinx in particular. All the World's a Stage recording. That recording (1975?) was the first I heard of Rush and it blew my mind - I'd never heard bass & drums like that before. It's still right up there as one of the most butt kicking hard driving rock recordings I can think of.

By the way, (this one's probably only for the Canadians) has anyone else seen the "Trailer Park Boys" episode where Ricky kidnaps Alex Lifeson (duck tape and into the trunk of the car) in order to bring him to "Bubble's" birthday party? Any Rush fan should see that episode.
