No matter what your take on the AI may be, no matter how long we may discuss, the era of the AI is coming and nothing can stop it.
Most current pop music could be generated by AI and nobody would notice or care.
I had a 36 year career in application development and I see how AI can present a serious problem simply because decision making is a reflection of the developer. Developers are people and people can be a problem.
Current “AI” technology is basically mechanized plagiarism.

In theory AI can harvest every new dollar put to market.

Historically speaking, new tech has generally benefitted the rich and powerful the most.
Specialist A.I. is going to be manipulated & controlled by the rich and powerful, so they can stay that way, and I'd guess it's already been the case for quite some time.

At this point I'm prepared to take any pop music that includes an "I", artificial or otherwise.
I think it will be put to use by bad people for criminal purposes.
Also it will likely eliminate huge numbers of jobs across the world.

If an AI system’s music output succeeds with the general listening public then to me it’s just further proof of how formulaic I think most popular music has become. I’m sure the hack composers and poseurs are terrified. I don’t think the real creatives feel threatened.
Back before AI became a popular buzzword on the news and a topic of discussion (often between people who actually know very little of substance when it comes to artificial intelligence research) there was a thing called an ‘expert system.’ These systems were actually quite successful and are still widely deployed for things like code optimization and industrial control and planning purposes. There was a saying back then that still applies in many circumstances: “These days, 20 years worth of experience can fit on a floppy disk.” This was often mentioned in the same breath as another saying: “Some people have 20 years worth of experience. Others have one year’s worth of experience repeated 20 times.” Oftentimes, this wasn’t a joke.
I’m not impressed at all by the AI generated music I’ve heard so far. I think in the end it’ll be employed in the same way you might use an app like Band in a Box. Which is ti say a brainstorming aid.

Or, depending on whether the font used on a site is Sans Serif, the equally relevant question is:"Who is this 'Al' person that everyone is talking about these days and why don't they include their last name?"
The question to ask is:
Is there a class issue in AI?
Does one section of society own, control and benefit from AI at the expense of the majority of the population?
If the answer is No, then there's not much to worry about.
If the answer is Yes, then you can bet your last red cent it'll be used against the majority.
If the wolf wishes to eat the lamb, any excuse will do.
Germans used the White Pages to round up its "enemies". Today we have Social Media and Robotic police dogs and Drones to do the work.
