Zon basses - is everything OK ?

Billy's is gloss black, so it's interesting that the default for his sig model is matte. I was this close to requesting a headless BG5, but I don't believe the five string pickups were ready so I went with a matte black headless Sonus: I like the stealth visual vibe, and I already own a gloss black bass :D

Anyway, congrats! I'd love to hear sound samples of the distortion. I think I've only heard one demo (which was Billy at NAMM as I recall).
A headless BG5 is my dream bass, but I want one in Candy PINK metallic XD

My orders were placed,

10/2020 Sonus Todd Johnson

8/2021 Sonus Custom fretted and fretless
I placed my order 06/2021 and have been in communication with Joe a bit lately. I'm getting closer to production but we're waiting on one more discussion that should take place in June before I have any concrete news.

FWIW Joe has been more responsive to emails lately. Sometimes I get a reply and I reply back immediately and pretty much get a chat going. IMHO things are looking up.

That 10/2020 order is getting pretty long in the tooth.
Have you had correspondence from Zon?

I spoke with Joe in January and was told my first bass would be complete around March.

Last email correspondence on 4/18/2022 stated parts should be in at the end of the month to finish my bass.

My other two basses on order are not past due. Estimated completion for that order is around September 2022.

What was it you had to get repaired on your Zon?
AWESOME!!!! playing by the way.
Thanks!

The fingerboard had separated from the neck at the heel of the neck. The problem started out as a faint line in the finish on the beck, then became a very thin hairline crack, and then one day I picked up the bass to play and the neck had lifted about 3mm at the heel!

I made a thread here with pictures if youre curious to see.

Hi Everyone!

I know it's been a very long time, but life has been busy busy busy. As promised here's a little snippet of the bass. I tried to bring the energy down at least a little bit in the middle so that you can hear how the onboard distortion impacts the tone of the bass as you ramp up the energy. I love love love the bass! Take care and talk to you soon :)
