Zon basses - is everything OK ?

I honestly have no idea. They don't respond to my emails anymore, and I'm currently at a 32 month wait. If it were literally any other builder, I would absolutely assume that ordering with them would be flushing your deposit down the toilet. The general consensus still seems to be that you will wait, but will eventually get your instrument.

Same here. Except I’m at the 59 month point in my wait. As you stated in the other thread I don’t understand how guys who ordered a bass a year ago get them and then the rest of us just wait.

When this issue first came up, I scoffed at that idea, but I’m starting to think it’s justified as well. I can’t even comprehend a 12 year wait.
Since 2018 people have wanted a sticky. I think the reasoning behind not doing one is that some people wait a very long time for a bass and some people get theirs earlier than promised so there is no discernible pattern to when you might get your build. Also everyone who ordered one has eventually received one. I think if people are interested in ordering one they should read all the threads out there and make their own mind up as there is no fixed formula for when an instrument might be completed but you will get one eventually.

Well, I'm not sure I agree with your reasoning. Getting a bass "eventually" is a defense for not doing a sticky? Oh my.

I guess it just boils down to whether bassists should know about this as soon as they come in the forum, but way of a sticky. I think so. Not everyone agrees that a business only has do deliver "eventually".

But I am gathering that others do think that "eventually" is good enough.

Bottom line is that TB (like Zon) is a business whose aim is to make a profit. It isn't a democracy. So I will stop advocating for a sticky. I hope you are right, that bassists don't need a sticky and know what they are getting into when they deal with Zon. I really do hope that you are right, mrgittleman. And I really do hope that "eventually" getting a bass is acceptable to most bassists.

I’m not a moderator but just trying to fathom the reason why a sticky was not posted. It was requested and would have made a difference in my decision to order. I’m not defending their business practices and have been very vocal in trying to let others know what they getting into. If you go back here Official Zon Club Part 5 you can see the debate. As stated before if I had know it would taken so long I wouldn’t have ordered. Maybe a moderator could chime in.

Honestly I think that as upset as people get, they calm down when they get that sweet sweet delivery notice. Because of that, I think it's hard to gain the permanent traction needed to raise the sirens.

I'm a perfect example. I've been waiting a while, and I'm not getting much communication from the shop. If I were to get a shipping notice though and get my bass, I don't know how motivated I would continue to be to be on here and alert folks to watch out. It doesn't seem to be a widespread issue either, as in it seems that only select customers are left hanging. A good amount of customers get their basses in a time frame that's at least acceptable, otherwise this thread would be going bananas like the other stickied threads. It seems random, which is the hardest part for those that are in delivery purgatory.
