Zoom MS-60B announced... at last

I'm thinking so. I can't replicate your symptoms with mine, whether powered by AA batteries or a Boss PSA-120S 500ma wall wart.

Basses:
- Squier VM Jazz with Dimarzio Area J's, stock wiring and shielding.
- Ibanez ATK305.
- Home-made passive 5-string with Dingwall pickups, copper foil shielding.

MS-60B into MacBook Pro, iPad 2 via:
- Apogee Jam
- Tascam US-800

Monitors: Beyer DT880's, Shure 425SE's, Jensen and Infinity hi-fi speakers fed by an old Tascam DC-coupled integrated hi-fi amp.

Also tested with GK MB200 and MB800 into AudioKinesis Thunderchild two-way cab with a large horn driver.

Moderately noisy electrical environment: Overhead fluorescent fixture, laptop, Tascam interface and pedal plugged into a wall outlet. Monitor system and bass amps plugged into another outlet via power bars, along with a 27" iMac, 24" Dell monitor, APC UPS, cable modem, various backup drives, VOIP phone and line driver, dual-band wi-fi router, and a large Epson all-in-one printer.

No it doesn't but I was messing with it a little and it seemed like a fretless type effect to me. I tried dialing back the wah in it and didn't really find what I was looking for so maybe not haha.

For those of you who have a B7K and a 60b. WOW. I started running my B7K thorough the SVT model and oh my! Sounds awesome. It's like an SVT on steroids.

Yes, the SVT sim is great, especially for rock.

One thing about the amp sims: They all feature cab sims. If you are playing through an amp with a bass cab, the sound may be darker and muddier than it needs to be.
I learned in a B3 thread that the Mix control sets the amount of cab sim in the mix. Its default is 50, but if you are running through a real cab, you get a cleaner sound with the Mix at 0 (no cab sim). When recording directly from pedal or DI or sending sound to PA, that cab sim is probably needed and Mix could be turned up to max (100).

Cool, I always wondered what the "mix" was for. I thought it was a blend of your clean signal haha. Thanks.

Got mine in yesterday and had rehearsal that night, so I didn't get to tinker with it much before using it. I thought it sounded great! I just set up Rock SVT and PB Clean on A/B and it killed through my Markbass CMD121p set flat.
I can't wait to get home so I can dial in some compressors and preamps. Best $99 I've ever spent on gear!

Alright, so I hooked mine up to the computer today to check if there's a firmware update, and it says there is, but I can not for the life of me find where to download it on zoom's website. Anyone know where it is? It's not a link from the MS-60B product page, and the manual I checked online said to check the website for firmware updates.

Okay, so what is the best power supply to use with this pedal? Just went through my first set of batteries and I've only been playing at home. This is my only pedal, so I don't have or need a pedal board. Just looking for cheap, reliable power.

Boss adapter or a OneSpot plug will be fine. I've used both. Look at the posts above, esp Steve's.

MS-60B or B2 ?

Just doing a few intros like September by Earth Wind & Fire & Boogie Oogie Oggie. No other effects in my arsenal.

Do want a multieffects but not a huge one & it MUST be dead quiet in my chain & not have any tone suck!

I HATE EFFECTS !! ha ha

The B2 is old technology. But even apart from the improvements in processing power and simulation models, even userfriendlyness is vastly improved.
The screen makes a world of difference.

I find my MS-60B to have great tone and no noise (unless we're talking noisy effects).

I'm getting one today!! We will see

I just want to punch in an effect for an intro & shut it off & not effect the tone

Can't believe there is one in stock in my local shop. Gig tomorrow ! YIKES !
