Yes! That's it!
The photos don't do it justice. It's a nice bass.
I guess that answers the question about silver silks on the headstock ends (no silver silks)

Yeah I found one vendor used an effect on all of their sound clips... I think sound 'clips' are pretty much useless with classic basses like P or J ...

What pickup and strings are you using on the upright? What cab(s)? If you had to pick just one of these heads which would it be?I own a lot of amps including several Mesa Subway heads and the Magellan 800 and 350 and the Kinetix.
The Mesa D-350 and the Megellan 350 have different tone characteristics but they share one trait and that is that they both push a lot more air than you would expect. the Mesa has more character in the tone and the Magellan is more neutral. I have used both with upright bass with excellent results.
The "nutcracker" comment is because of the nut slot. On a non-zero-fret I'm not exactly confident in widening it myself, in fear of making it too low and irreversible to metal strings. I'm also interested in trying some Pyramid flats on it (they'll go to my Newport if I don't like them here), and I'd sort out the nut if I decide on the tapes on it permanently.
But then, where/who did Page swipe them from? If indeed what you’re hearing is in any way derived from LZ in the first place…I’m hearing more Booker T./MG’s meets Hendrix, kicked way up in tempo, fusion style. I seriously doubt that Zep was on anyone’s mind during that take.I counted at least two Jimmy Page quotes from the guitarist in the first minutes of that cut.
Thanks for the tip! Are Edwards made in Japan? If you find yourself in Tokyo, check out the ESP Guitar Workshop. Wild and crazy guitars and basses in that shop. I bought an Edwards Tele and an Edwards Jaco style bass there.

no prob.awesome! thank you!!
Learning that cutting the A channel gain and blend, tilting the style towards "J" while boosting the DCX allows for a whole different clean character.Seconded
