Yeah good point re the Tone Capsule - I would need a stacked pot or would have to add another hole and put in a third tone pot. I would probably just add one, since there is room.

I can finally and gladly say that I second that remark...at least how the 4 string version plays. The neck is silky smooth and fast.

After discovering that I like nickel strings (DR Pure Blues) on my Super P with the AlNico V NP-4a pickup, I decided to try one of Jason's (BSO) nickel round string recommendations on my SJ/P with the same pickup. I put a set of Ken Smith tapercore (on E and A strings) Burners, 65-105. I'm liking them. I was surprised at the full, firm fundamental (especially on the E) I was getting while playing live this morning. They get as bright and present as I want, which I like to be. They seem to be slightly higher tension than the Dingwall SS rounds that I've used on this bass for years. Now that I know that I like nickel strings with AlNico pickups, I'm going to try a set of Dingwall nickels on this one next.

Yes, I’ll go ahead and admit that I’m too lazy to read 900+ pages of this post so I apologize in advance. Is Dingwall the majority brand to restring my NG2 with?

There are others out there, but yes... Dingwall strings are definitely the biggest market share.

And for all you newcomers - the Switchblade system is no longer. Got too complicated and they didn't make that many.
Looks like about the same era, but I’m not sure when it was made.
It was noticeably lighter than my ash Super pj5. Right around 9 lb.

It's not a switchblade but it's the only one if seen like this. I'd love to get my hands on this. Check out the pick up size compared to the one to the right.
Side note. I feel like the super fatties don't get the attention they deserve. My 5 is like the rest you posted.
Now that IS interesting (and now I fully understand your initial reply). I hadn't seen that one before. Looks like standard FD-3s in the original Z3 layout. I wonder if that was just prior to just sticking them altogether (which is probably a whole lot easier/faster to route, wire, etc.).

Ok - it is really called "Stock Shots", but it might as well be 'Dingwall Drool'.
Now that IS interesting (and now I fully understand your initial reply). I hadn't seen that one before. Looks like standard FD-3s in the original Z3 layout. I wonder if that was just prior to just sticking them altogether (which is probably a whole lot easier/faster to route, wire, etc.).

That pic looks like it is from Japan or something since that one bass is 598,000 somethings.
I long for the day I walk into a store that has a collection like that..... unfortunately for my wife I'm sure I'll have to sell the house to pay for the bill I'd rack up!!!
