sounds like its the power in the guys basement. I have that issue pop up every now and then and it's always power related. I also don't have a ground loop issue in my rig, but some places (especially residential) has garbage wiring and sometimes its all on one circuit.

I say try and see what you think. I used to use some gut strings but personally I find myself not liking the guts as much because the Spiros punch harder and I like the feel better (especially as mentioned above the E and A), but I play somewhat loudish modern jazz so that might have contributed.

I dunno I tend to buy burst finish fenders anyway so maybe they are just catering to boring old fogeys like me.

We rehearse in a rehearsal room we pay for in an industrial area so we usually don't bring food. We used to have a mini fridge till it died. I usually prefer no food at rehearsal. I generally am there to get some work done then move on with my day or evening.

Radial or if you wanna spend some money the REDDI. edit: saw you said something about piezos in which case make sure the input impedance is at least 1MegOhm

I pretty much always use my P+J (2012 American Pbass Deluxe) with Tapewounds and run it everything passive and volume up all the way direct through a Radial and it sounds like pure sweetness in the mix.

Every so often I check here to see if anyone has gotten their basses... I am simultaneously surprised and not surprised everytime I check. Been following since like 2 years ago... I am astounded at and appalled at how long this has gone on
