Tracked an upright with an MXL V69 through an old original MBox with the onboard preamp. Sounded strangely detailed and not muddy!

Had a 15" PF cab and didn't dig it at all - way too flubby and farty when you really pushed it. How's the 4x10" stack up??

Had the exact same predicament not too long ago. Bought the PF first, ended up selling it for the Orange. Not to say the PF's aren't great amps, but the Terror Bass just has that growl and moves the low end so lovely.

Terror Bass is seriously a tough amp to beat. LOVE it with 10"s.

If you're keeping it, I'd go Orange. AD200 and as many 10"s as you feel you need.

To me they are. Scooped & hot. Could never get that big ol' fat pickup to sound any different!

Good choice! PR40 is a fantastically versatile mic, too. Sits great on top snare and try it on some aggressive vocals!

I always use Mogami Golds when I can, but they're expensive. Is there a difference? Yes. Is it worth the money? If you have it to budget, yes.

Had that same rig for a while. Sounded excellent. On tour, the cab got beat up pretty easily, and the latches on the lid seemed to loosen a bit over time. Also had the head blow up mid-tour once and had to get an entire new board thrown in it, but that was on Ampeg, as I had one of the first run...
