Thought I'd stop being selfish and share a pic of my Mk2 today Lots of really wonderful choices for those facings! Can't wait to see the bass once it's complete.

I have Dunlop strap locks on my Mk2, I like them. They are solid and never had issues with them. I had Paul install them as I have read that you'd need to drill the holes a bit bigger than the Wal strap buttons to get the screws into the body.

Indeed, a happy 2024 to all! I have owned my zebrawood Mk2 for nearly 3 years now and every single time I take it out of the case I'm struck by the quality. It's an absolute tone monster, joy to play and an incredible work of art. And honestly I still cannot believe that I own it, my dream bass...

Oh my lord. I'm glad the customs manager at JFK played guitar and didn't tax me for the Wal import. Once he saw me walking with the case he got hyped. The joys of waiting for a world class instrument at the mercy of the un-knowledgeables is frankly terrifying.

Now that right there is one amazing Wal.

Just a heads up, I placed a new order in January 21', and I have yet to receive any sort of response from Wal. They are quite busy.

I don't think you have to switch over to Alembic pages to see how outrageous the original price was on that Wal.

I asked this during construction of my own Mk2, and Paul simply advised me not to order separate fretted and fretless necks as he mentioned most people never switch their necks, and the extra ends up being completely forgotten. However, in the event I was willing, the idea was basically the same...
