Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

C4 does octave REALLY well IMO, probably the thing I use it most for! Tracking is superb and in a full band mix that’s what I’m after. It’s really easy to plug it into your laptop / phone and audition community presets and when you find some (up to six) that you like, add them to the presets...

Nice line up. MXR is a solid choice from what I’ve read/heard. The Atlas thing intrigues me. I love the idea of one pedal being able to selectively compress at the start and/or the end of the chain. Best of both worlds. Plus I have a few songs where I could do with some sort of dual band comp to...

Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Somewhere many pages back in this thread is someone who wired their atlas up to be both front end comp AND end of chain comp/limite, coz of course it has 2 i/o and internal routing options. That might be worth reading up on… especially with midi control, that would provide max flexibility for...

BOSS SY series synth pedals - why not more popular?

I don’t have anything to add to this thread apart from: this is now my new favourite pedal related phrase. Good work!!

Like an OC-2, but doesn't get overpowered by a hot signal

Source Audio C4 / Spectrum are excellent suggestions. Also, the EBS Octavers coped well with my Ibby BTB which had HUGE output. Good tracking, excellent sound. For me, better than the MXR. Have never owned a Boss OC series though to be fair

Or a proper USB connection from your phone works ok for on the fly edits… e.g. for me a lightning to usb On The Go short cable / dongle thingy into the iPhone, and then the usual USB A to micro B cable

    SVT tubey pedal choice

If you’ve got any way of checking out a Source Audio Aftershock I’d recommend having a listen. Lovely, lovely light drive / tube breakup sounds to be had, plus you can save another two (similar or radically different) sounds to it and MIDI it up later if you want more sounds. The stock sounds...

Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

From what I remember, it just loads the next/last preset and if it was engaged it stays engaged, if it was bypassed it stays bypassed.

If you’ve already got things hooked up with hub and want to simply browse presets without changing engaged status, you could map the CCs for increment / decrement preset on each pedal that you need this for? Custom mapping via rhe Neuro editor, here’s mine:

Nice work @rsmith601 and team, the new adaptor will be an excellent solution. Out of curiosity: is use of the bundled mini TRS to 5 pin socket mandatory for DIN connections on the MIDI In socket, or could it be replaced with a (correctly wired) mini TRS to 5 pin plug cable?

Well: the answer is gold, Aftershock. It’s the best looking pedal on my board!

@Horgh - thanks for the SA blog link, hadn’t seen that… really useful info in there. I’ve been very lazy programming my aftershock presets… didn’t know it did half the stuff it does!! Further reading needed, I think. Also, I’d never thought of using it for EQ only… I’ve got a few songs in...

Aggressive Pbass tone with or without fx?

My guess is it’s his technique and the basses he’s used over the years are just voiced more gnarly than most! But in all seriousness… if you want to add some drive and bite on the cheap, try a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Rounds. They sound like nothing else… too much for what I play, but the NOISE...

    MORTRIX MIDI foot controller

    Good for programming though.
