    Fender Fullerton Reissue club

I'd like to join if possible? This is my 1982 (body date Dec 23, 1982) Fender '62 AVRI. The story on this one is my guitar player moved a tenant's bed and off in the corner is a bass case. My guitar player asks about the case and the bed owner states "that's my boyfriend's old bass. He used to...

    35", 2 pickup, passive 5ers under $1000?

I've got a Spector MKII that I believe is under a grand. You can find them used much cheaper as well. Invalid Link Removed

Did you ever manage to impress your guitar player?

Yes. Occasionally I come up with some pretty cool "riffage".

    DLR talks about Michael Anthony

While Anthony isn't the greatest bassist on Earth his vocals were a HUGE "hook" for VH.

    Why hate Adam Clayton?

Adam Clayton = bassist who makes the most money per note!!! Clayton's tone is amazing and plays exactly what U2 needs. While not a technical player by a longshot, U2 doesn't need a technical player, but he is the "glue" that holds their songs together. For those hating on Bono, in my personal...

    Best overall metal rhythm section?

Jonesy/Bonham (some peeps are stating that they're not "Metal" but during the early '70's the only band "heavier" was Sabbath), Duce/McClain (Machine Head), Harris/McBrain, Myung/Portnoy, Lee/Peart (not Metal but not many combos better), Grey/Jordison, Adler/Campbell, sooooo many great combos to...

    SWR

Pre-Fender SWR stuff is some of the very best bass gear available at that time. After Fender took over they utilized SWR's technology and now as you're stating, disolving what was one of the most innovative bass amp/cab companies ever.

Today i saw Cliff Burtons ric! (pics)

metdistortion - I don't feel that anyone is jealous. It's just a small part of who that person is or was. I really dig seeing Dime's Dean from Hell at NAMM. There's a small part of the soul of who the person once was contained within. Another example would be Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar. He...

    UGH. Nickelback.

Not my cup of tea but atleast they didn't write "Lips of an Angel"! Back in the day, when Nickelback was up and coming I guess one of them had a real rockstar attitude. One of the openning bands dropped a #2 into his waterbottle (those with the little straw out the top).

    Cliff Burtons Rickenbacker

One of my buddies was the #2 guy after Jason got the nod from Metallica. My friend, Jerry, is an incredible bass player, probably better than Jason, BUT Jason is a great bass player. No one will ever be able to fill Cliff's shoes, same with Randy Rhoads, John Bonham, Darrell Abbott, etc...

    Bands led by the Bassist

S L A Y E R IRON MAIDEN-While Mr. Harris does not sing I do believe he writes a great deal of the lyrics and music. IMO regarding Rush, Neil writes the majority of the music but that band is like three GODs as opposed to one that really shines. just my .02

    Chi Cheng(Deftones)

I actually talked to Steph about Chi. He informed me that Chi lost both his brothers last year and he was coming home from the service of one of them when he got into the accident. Chi's brother Ming (who is still alive) used to book my band so I had a little connection I guess. His family has...

    Check Out This Ibanez BTB!

No BTB Prestiges are made anymore. I read the other day that the last year BTB's were made in Japan was 2005, is it true that many 1205's and 1305's are Korean made? I have a BTB 1005 that's MIJ, I love it. One of the best basses that I've played.
