I think maybe different transformers change the character of the amp ? From the clips I heard I tend to favor the strategy . I find the strategy and reeves 225 have similar characters before the voicing switch is engaged . Maybe it's the kt88 power tubes .

I was thinking same thing . In one video some one is adjusting the eq on the strategy . The amp seem to sound very rich @ full . The prodigy sounds good I just remember the strategy video and thinking it was different .

My experience I find the V4 b a great amp . How ever I find it doesn't react or push the speakers like the cl . Owning the V4 b I have run out of headroom where the svt just kept pumping if I needed it . I use a p bass and jazz bass and found the p bass was the one that I found I needed more...

I remember a buster 200 15 combo sounded great kick my self for not buying it . A prodigy combo would be great also .

Both seems like great amps . The prodigy is 29 lbs and 250 watts rms . The plus for the fender is dual channel with some gain if needed . The best way is try both if possible .

Has anyone tried a graphic eq through the prodigy effects loop ?

GK does the active bass tone great @ ampeg does the vintage p bass or jazz bass tone . The 800 rb was all the rage in the 80s with emg or active bases . Classic guns n roses or skid row had the gk tone . To name a few . Both classic amps hard to beat a 70s svt though .

I have had my new V4 B a while now . I had no hum or any noticeable hum . I switch back and fourth between my VR . Honestly it is a great sounding amp . The only thing I did notice is the VR seems to have a looser low end . where the V4 B is a little tighter sounding . I did try 6550 up grade...

Ole fashion bearing grease . Every time id start up the amp after I had it 3 years the fan was making one heck of a noise . I remember removing the back sticker and lightly greasing it at the time was doing some recordings . The fan seems to be ok since Hope this help .

V4B on top of 8x10 sweet looking rig . Now that I can lift the V4B easier then a svt . Its got me thinking on what cabs to run . I like the idea of 1 cab instead of 2 x 4x10 so many choices :hyper:

How are the power tubes ? Are they biasing ok . I know this might sound crazy have you tried new speaker cables and patch cord .

Slides out the front . I sometimes remove the grill and have more room to work . The Grill is held by Velcro . I usually pull it forward also . Just install the grille first before putting pre amp back in .

To get at pre amp four bolt screws from top of head After the bolts remove slide it forward @ Then there is a sheet metal cover with small screws holding cover on .
