Ive played through a few ABMs and used to own a MAG300, and the mark king is just pure tone bliss. Its different than the ABMs, but its a GOOD difference. Its like a perfect combination of my favorite amps (Ashdown and Trace Elliot). Plus, its RED!!

Ashdowns are awesome, i dont have much experience with Hartkes. The ones ive played sounded pretty good, but nothing compared to ashdowns.

When i was 13, i loved playing Black sabbath tunes. You learn alot about timing and basic rock basslines. It sets a good foundation playing motown and classic rock. Anyways, Keep it up, it sounds good.

Buy Used!!!! you will save alot of money.

I paid 900 for mine at a local store.......but.....It was in perfect condition, had a profesional setup (the guys there are REALLY good), case, and he shielded the electronics for free. I think that might be worth the extra money.... sam

I would say anything from Ashdown, Aguilar, or Ampeg(SVT) would sound awesome. In fact a p-bass will sound good through most decent amps just find one you like

I just got an 08 american jazz....... i am speechless. Much better than the Japanese marcus sigs that i have played. The american five string marcus sig is awesome though.
