20% increase in price for Fender as Of Feb 1st

Though, as a mainland European, this is rather useful, I've seen a new Fender American Std. Jazz for 830 euros including shipping which is about 329 euros cheaper than elsewhere. I'm so GASsing for one right now, it's not even funny anymore. :bawl:

Should have kept my mouth shut

Hahaha, oh wow, I actually thought the black dot on his head was his left eye. I don't have any great advice, but if she really wants one, why not just give it to her, she'll take care of it herself right?

Prices in mainland Europe and UK?

What? I've imported a bass from Japan and haven't had any trouble with that. Also, due to the high-valued euro, buying a bass from the UK is a good alternative, Fender MIA Standard Jazz costs ~1200 euros, while the same thing from the UK including shipping costs ~970 euros, importing the same...

    A $1.00 Lakland?!

Anybody wanna buy me one? I'll give the person who can send me one $500 and I'll pay for shipping to Europe. PLEASE ;_; Eitherway, they messed up, and if they can't offer the bass at that price they should at least give something like discount or whatever.

    That 'Punk bass' sound.

Actually it also depends on what kind of punk you're talking about. If you're talking about the "classical" punk sound go fat, lots of bass and lose some of the mids. If you're talking about a more gritty punk so, you could try dropping the bass (even to 0) and raising the mids and treble(even...

    Ampeg B200r problem.

I think I know what you mean, on low volume everything sounds thin, but if you crank it up, it starts sounder better, but unfortunatly, that's too loud to play in a bedroom.

    Searching for jazz-bass

The Skylines have a very good name, Invalid Link Removed page is about the differences between them. Also, if you don't like active basses, you might wanna try a Fender American Jazz 2008, they have passive electronics and seem to be of high quality.

Tube Challenge III.II: SVT vs. VT

I'm going for two, the slap gave it away the last time on the Markbass/SWR/Ampeg comparison. And 2 sounded a bit deeper to me. But I have to say, it's so close, if even us bassists have a hard time telling the different after numerous tries, that Tech 21 VT is pretty awesome. I'm buying it...

    difference between maple and rosewood?

Though I haven't played any maple necks yet... someone here posted a comparison using the same bass but different necks. The maple IMHO did have more "bite" to it but it was only noticable towards the higher end. Of course, YMMV, but maybe you could try digging up that old thread and giving...

Enough with the Jazz/Precision polls! What other pickup style is your favourite?

We all now that people like jazz's precisions in about a 2:1 ratio (at least the number I see in the polls) But what other pickup style is your favourite (excluding J's and P's (PJ are allowed though)) I'd love to add a poll, but I think there would be too much options, so far I can think...

What's your favorite color combo for the 2008 Fenders?

Though I love 3T SB with a RW fingerboard, I'm really digging the black/black/maple look, it just looks so classy and every time I see it makes me GAS madly. (That's why I stay away from the black&maple club for the time being)

you have $3000.00..What would you buy????

What would I do with £1500? Not quite sure, maybe you could make a patronage and we'd find out? If I were to spend it on a bass, for me, a Sadowsky is all I can think of, probably a fiver, or a Rick and a Stingray 5er . Anyway since importing sound gear from anywhere outside Europe is either...

    NEW DRAGONFORCE ALBUM LEEEEEEEEEEKED MON

Hahaha, reading all this remembers me when I first heard 'em. I listed to loads of junk, the more aggressive the better. Does it matter were between the frets you play?

True, but I only experience that when I press in pretty hard, if I press the string without too much pressure it gives out the same tone over the length of the entire fret.
  22. H

What kind of truss rod do you have in your necks?

None of these, I think. I can adjust the neck at the headstock and it's not visible at the base of the neck. So maybe it could be the second one reversed?
  23. H

    Stay stock or customize

Well, maybe some small hardware adjustments, pickguard, knobs, tuners and bridge. But not the electronics, if... ehh when, I buy a new bass, I'd buy it for the sound and how it feels, sure I'll be honoust, looks matter somewhat, but those are the most important ones to me. So buying new...

What do the x's mean in sheet music?

Well, IMO, dead notes are the x's by plucking a note while putting my finger on the string while not pushing it in. While I play ghost notes by either gently pushing in the string above the appropriate fret or pluck very gently, so you don't get the full sound of a regular pluck.

Fretting With Little Finger On Left Hand

Learning to play with my pinky was one the things I learned in my early bass months, one-finger-per-fret really helps me get better reach and raise my fretting technique IMO. You should try some pinky exercises, not only on your bass, pushing things with it, build up strength. Building up...

    The Tube Challenge (Volume Two)

I'm just guessing on the first two, but the lows on the third sound kind of they are forcing their limit, like the LMII. And I chose the second as the SWR for it having a more "clear" sound, mind you, the only amp I ever owned is my practice amp :p 1:B-15 2:SWR 3:LMII
