I slightly scoop my mids at 400hz and it seems to cut just fine with my vb-2 and 4x12 setup. then again this cab has better mids than most cabs that i've played...mind you i don't play much nice stuff.

I own 2 8 ohm crate 4x10's(which currently get used for PA system) and 2 Peavey 412TVX cabs for my rig. Only run one at a time but one stays in the trailer for gigs and the other is upstairs for practice.

Hey I love peavey. I'll say check out the vb-2 tons of bottom and overdriving the clean channel is fun. I found the ampeg svt cl(i think it's that model) 300 watt tube amp does that pretty well. There's one on the floor in my gc. So that's my only experience with it though.
