I picked one up last week, looks to be a series ii with green leds and an iec. I’m a big fan, but it currently has loud a dog and fiancé startling pop on startup that may be a deal breaker. Any thoughts? Filter caps don’t look all explody.

This 400RB arrived on my doorstep from GC’s used site! So far works great, besides a few missing gray caps. Sounds excellent with my 70’s P Bass strung with GHS Boomers through a Faital loaded TL-606.

From Henniker here! I study with Don Williams at the Concord Community Music School. The Music Mill is a great store and I usually order strings from juststrings, I should have a set coming in the afternoon. I bought my 75' Precision from Daddy's back in June and haven't put it down since.

I bought a 74' P Bass from the Manchester store last July. I have always had a good experience with them, they were always very helpful and involved with their customers.

It also looks like the Bi-sonics themselves have been modded, don't they usually have black covers between the chrome? And it also looks like he is using one of Alembics external power supplies in the third pic.

I have flats on my 74 P with a maple board, I never noticed it making a difference vs. flats on a rosewood board.

There seems to be a ton of used book stores thriving here and a few good indie stores selling both used and new. I haven't been into a Border's in a long time when I can get the same book for pretty much the same price from the indie store or even used somewhere else.

I've had a TV 12 for a few months now and I really like the tone I'm getting with a P-Bass, but I was wondering would replacing the 12AX7 with a nicer tube help the sound or should I just keep the tube thats in there for now?

I bought one right after christmas or so and have played it at a few gigs. I would definitely agree with that description, my only gripe is that it seems really heavy for how big it is. Even running cheap basses through it, its been dead quiet, I haven't looked to see what the pre-amp tube is...

So I have had an Affinity P Bass for a year or so and have started playing fairly regularly, is it worth it to upgrade the pickups in the Affinity or just buy a new Classic Vibe Precision? I play through a Fender Bassman TV Twelve with flatwounds if thats any help.
